How to grow lettuce

Lettuce is an edible vegetable with tender stems. It tastes delicious and crispy, and contains basic nutrients, which can stimulate appetite, promote digestion, strengthen the body, and prevent cancer. So, what is the way to grow high-yield lettuce? Let's go and have a look!

1, sowing and seedling raising

Lettuce is generally transplanted in autumn, pre-germinated at low temperature before sowing, and the seedbed is kept moist after sowing. Spraying 75% wet powder 500 times every 7~ 10 days before emergence to prevent collapse and wilt, and applying potassium fertilizer every 7~ 10 days to promote seedling growth.

2. Soil preparation and fertilization

Suitable for field planting, fertile soil, water conservation and convenient drainage irrigation. Dig deep into the soil and apply 3500 kg of decomposed organic fertilizer, 50 kg of calcium superphosphate and 50 kg of compound fertilizer per mu.

Step 3 plant

Seedling age is 25~30 days, and it can be planted when 4~5 leaves grow. If the seedling age is too long, it is easy to burst. The field row spacing is generally 30 ~ 35cm, and the plant spacing is 25cm. Plant 6000~7000 plants per mu in the field, which can be planted when the weather is cool or after 4 pm.

4. Tian Tuan management

(1) watering: root water should be poured immediately after planting, and dilute manure water should be poured once 2 days after planting to promote seedling delay.

(2) Fertilization: apply quick-acting nitrogen fertilizer after seedling delay, and then reduce watering appropriately to keep the soil moist. Before and after the fruiting stage, apply heavy fertilizer for 2-3 times, and apply 30%-40% decomposed human and animal manure of 3000-4000 kg or urea 15 kg per mu. Fertilizer and water are supplied evenly to prevent the stems from cracking.

(3) intertillage: fertilization, watering and rainfall after planting are easy to cause soil hardening on the border. The combination of timely intertillage and fertilization after slowly planting seedlings is beneficial to squatting seedlings, promoting the good development of roots, increasing rosette leaves, and making young stems grow healthily and not jump.

5. Prevent bolt connection

In order to prevent bolting in autumn, when the stem of lettuce begins to swell, it can be sprayed on the bud leaves for 2~3 times, which can effectively inhibit the stem length and increase the stem weight. In the later growth stage, the flower buds that can differentiate from the tender stems can be removed to promote the continuous growth of the stems.

Step 6 harvest

Lettuce can be transplanted in batches in autumn and harvested continuously. It can be sold as a semi-formed plant 45 days after planting, and its stems and leaves can be used. When the core leaf is flush with the outer leaf or there are flower buds, it can be sold as a plant.
