Original text:

Jia Yucun told Leng Zixing in the country hotel that Cao Xueqin wanted to tell readers not to mistake Jia Baoyu, who likes to be with his daughters, for a womanizer. He pointed out that Qingming Lingxiu is the meaning of heaven and earth; Cruelty and perversity are the evils of heaven and earth. Some people in the world are healthy and some are evil, but there is another kind of person who is injected into his soul after the struggle between good and evil, and as a result, he is full of good and evil. This kind of person with good and evil can't be a benevolent gentleman on earth or a great evil on earth; Among thousands of people, its smart spirit is above thousands of people, and its perverse and unreasonable state is below thousands of people; If you are born in a rich family, you are infatuated; If you were born in a poor family of poetry and books, you would be an expert; Even if you were born in a poor family, you should not be a footman and a healthy servant. If you are willing to be driven and controlled, you will be promoted to a wonderful name. Jia Yucun also listed a long list, most of which are historical figures, as an example of this sentence. The people on this list have been counted, but it is difficult to determine the number, because there is an example of "two families in Xie Wang", two families in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, one is Wang Dao, the other is Xie An, the most famous of the Wangs is the calligrapher Wang Xizhi, and I also have a female poet Xie Daowen, but how many of these two families are distinguished between right and wrong? I don't know.

I won't elaborate on Jia Yucun's example here. When I read his list, I was most surprised that there were several emperors: Chen Houzhu, Tang He. These emperors are all political losers, and from the perspective of political science, they are all negative teachers. Tang Huangming, when I was talking about "Hanging the Sun and the Moon and Doing Kun" earlier, I said that the most impressive thing about this man is not his political achievements, but his love story with Yang Guifei. Originally, as an emperor, he had three palaces and six hospitals, and there were a lot of beautiful women for him to enjoy. It doesn't seem worthwhile to be true to the women in the palace. However, he was moved by Yang Guifei's true feelings. The love story between him and Yang Guifei has become a great resource of later literature and art-the legendary "Palace of Eternal Life" created by Hongyi has been performed until today, and there are countless poems, novels, dramas, dances, paintings and sculptures ... In modern times, plus movies and TV dramas ... I believe there will be more literary works in the future. Moreover, this story has penetrated into arts and crafts and entered the lives of ordinary people in China. Now people travel, and when they arrive in An, many people will never let go of Huaqing Pool, which is said to be the place where Tang and Yang Guifei bathed. The emperor was in a political mess, but through his emotional life, he became a typical infatuation, creating another value that was more attractive, lasting and popular than political achievements, so that it was a household name and ubiquitous among human beings. It's amazing to think about it. An ordinary person, who doesn't know the politically successful emperor Taizong, may not be laughed at by the people around him, but if he doesn't know that the heroine in Mei Lanfang's Drunk Imperial concubine is Yang Guifei and Yang Guifei is depressed and drunk because which emperor didn't come to see her that day, he will probably be laughed at by the people around him. Think about it carefully, this kind of thing is quite strange, and Cao Xueqin explained this phenomenon through Jia Yucun, and demonstrated that even when he became an emperor, he could transcend politics and create another kind of value instead of creating the value that the emperor should have created.

He Chen was an emperor about 100 years earlier than Emperor Tang Ming, the last emperor in the Northern and Southern Dynasties, a king of national subjugation, and a ridiculous emperor. Call him dissolute, and he will never be wronged. He likes singing and dancing, listening to songs and dancing and drinking for fun all day. There was nothing to say. Such a guy should be an out-and-out villain, but Cao Xueqin also listed him as "grasping good and evil" through Jia Yucun's words. In other words, this person has only negative value in politics, but has something else to recommend. His love for singing and dancing is not only to let others create songs and dances for him, but also to appreciate them in vain. He not only likes singing and dancing, but also participates in creation and is even keen on creation. We are all familiar with Du Mu's two poems in the Tang Dynasty, "A business woman doesn't know how to hate her country, but she still sings that flowers in the backyard lie across the river." The poem "Flowers in the Back Garden of Yushu" was written by Chen Houzhu himself. He participated in the arrangement and singing. When singing, he danced with him. He is just a master planner and director who is obsessed with this kind of song and dance. He died in China, but he created exquisite works of art, so Cao Xueqin affirmed his value in this respect through Jia Yucun and thought that he was also infatuated. In addition, Tang is also keen on artistic creation. Flowers have been lost in the back garden of Yushu, Chen Houzhu, and some people are trying to find a way to get back the big song and dance of "Dress in Clothes and Feather" directed by Tang.

Song Huizong is a well-known monarch who perished, but his artistic talent and achievements can't be compared with that of Tang Dynasty. You can't find He Tang in the literary dictionary, but you can definitely find this name, which is. He is one of the most outstanding calligraphers in the history of Chinese nation. He created a unique calligraphy style, which is called "hand-strength style" and has been passed down to this day. His meticulous flower-and-bird painting has reached a super level and even been brought to the treasure house of painting all over the world. Compared with the paintings of top painters of other nationalities, it is not inferior. In A Dream of Red Mansions, Yuanyang refused to marry. Her sister-in-law went to the Grand View Garden to persuade Yuanyang to be Jia She's little wife and called Yuanyang to say that she had a good word. Yuanyang cursed her sister-in-law and used a xiehouyu: "The eagle in Song Huizong and the horse in Zhao Ziang-all good paintings!" You see, Song Huizong's eagle painting is so good that it has become a folk allegorical saying. It is strange that such a person does not work hard as an emperor, does not engage in politics, does not govern, but devotes himself to art. In fact, Cao Xueqin pointed out through Jia Yucun that he is also an infatuated person, who cares not about power but about aesthetics.

I don't know what other fans think. Anyway, after reading Jia Yucun's argument carefully, at first, it was a little hard for me to accept, especially his affirmation of san huang the Great to a certain extent. What kind of values are these? If we agree with such values, then in today's social life, will we not become people who are divorced from politics, lose social care, give up social responsibility, work for art, or study for academics, get into the ivory tower and become unified, care about the sufferings of others and care about national rejuvenation?

We should not "apply what we have learned" when reading a dream of red mansions. We don't have to go to A Dream of Red Mansions to find ideas and behavior patterns that can be directly used in reality. A Dream of Red Mansions mainly provides us with high cognitive value and aesthetic value. However, this does not mean that A Dream of Red Mansions has no ideological enlightenment for us today, and there are no factors that can be used for reference in our real life.

Among the historical figures cited by Cao Xueqin through Jia Yucun's theory of good and evil, san huang, who is politically bad, only accounts for a small proportion. I think that's an extreme example. We don't need to stick to it and get stuck.

Cao Xueqin mainly wanted to explain Jia Baoyu through Jia Yucun's argument and pointed out his personality value. Because according to feudal orthodox standards, Jia Baoyu is a completely negative image. Everyone is familiar with Xijiang Moon, two poems that directly summarize Jia Baoyu's "negative value" in the third cycle. People have quoted too much all the time, so I won't quote any more. Of course, those words are negative on the surface, but in fact they are compliments. Jia Baoyu did not create value according to feudal orthodoxy, but he created positive value from other aspects, the most prominent of which was his love and care for marginalized people.
