A famous scholar in China insists that the Twenty-Eight Stars originated in China, and makes a rigorous deduction according to the literature. This gentleman's theory has been recognized by many scholars.

However, this conclusion has always lacked strong proof and material support. Those who oppose "China Theory" think that China's four images, Zuo Qinglong, You Baihu, Qian Suzaku and Hou Xuanwu, correspond to 28 constellations, but they are just the postscript of Confucian scholars in Han Dynasty in China.

During the period of 1977, the excavation of the curtain of Ceng Houyi in the Warring States Period in Hubei Province provided strong evidence for this debate. On the lid of a lacquer box, there is a colorful astronomical picture with a word "Dou" in the middle, and the names of 28 schools are clearly written around it.

In the center of the lacquer box cover, the word "Dou" is especially large, and it extends four strokes to the east, west, north and south, which point to the four centers of the twenty-eight palaces and four palaces respectively. This is also the symbol of the later four images theory.

The tomb of Zeng Houyi dates back to around 433 BC. Correspondingly, the No.1 bronze mirror of the Spring and Autumn Period was also unearthed in Shangcunling, Sanmenxia, Henan. The pattern on the back of the bronze mirror is almost the same as that in Ceng Houyi. The discovery of these two pictures proves that China had a perfect star system at the beginning of the first century BC or earlier.
