What happens when it rains?
There are three periods of rain, one is when water otters sacrifice fish, the other is when geese come, and the third is when plants sprout. It is said that when the rainy season comes, the water surface melts and otters start fishing. At the same time, the geese returned to the north and the vegetation sprouted. When it rains, the earth gradually begins to show a thriving scene.
After the rainy season, most parts of the south began to plough in spring. There are some common sayings in southern Fujian, such as "rainy and cold, no drought in spring", "two rains in spring, no water in ploughing", "rain in spring after thunder" and "no rain, no seedlings", all of which illustrate the importance of rain to agricultural planting in southern Fujian.
