How to educate children on traditional festivals

First, the use of environmental creation, highlighting the traditional festival education atmosphere in China.

Environment is an important resource of education, which plays a subtle role in children. Therefore, traditional festival education should grasp the educational factors of the environment, actively create and use the festival environment, and make the environment play its due educational function. In the research and practice of "The Application of China Traditional Festivals in Children's Theme Activities", according to the characteristics of children and the contents of traditional festivals, following the principles of scientificity, epochal, permeability and initiative, children can get a preliminary understanding of the origin, significance and customs of various traditional folk festivals by letting them feel and experience the atmosphere. Integrating traditional festival culture into kindergarten environment construction has created a rich atmosphere of traditional festival culture for children. In kindergarten, teachers and children can decorate the classroom environment and campus environment with festival characteristics according to the different characteristics of each festival. In terms of data collection, design and typesetting, by showing the origins, legends and customs of traditional festivals of various nationalities, the theme of national culture is highlighted in the form of illustrated pages, lively and interesting broadcasts and real-life physical booths, so that the environment can play an educational role of "moistening things quietly" and reveal the internal motivation of national development.

In the layout of the corridor walls and roofs, we chose the theme of festival education, one education theme every year, such as Spring Festival and Lantern Festival in small classes, Dragon Boat Festival and Double Ninth Festival in middle classes, and Tomb-Sweeping Day in large classes, so that children can experience the atmosphere of each festival. In addition, in every festival, the whole environment of the whole park is arranged so that children can experience the joy of the festival in the whole environment. For example, on the eve of the Spring Festival, we hang homemade lanterns and firecrackers on the corridors of all floors to let children feel the festive season. On the occasion of the Dragon Boat Festival, we created an environment in the corner of the kindergarten, collecting different styles of zongzi and putting out various fillings, which not only enriched the children's horizons, but also let them know the origin and folk customs of the Dragon Boat Festival.

Two, the use of theme activities, to carry out traditional cultural festival education.

Theme education activities are the foundation of kindergarten activities. Every holiday theme activity will benefit children, and of course, it is necessary to make detailed activity plans. For example, during the Lantern Festival, we designed a series of activities such as painting lanterns, making and eating Yuanxiao. Another example is to carry out the activities of the Dragon Boat Festival, which requires children to collect a lot of relevant information about the Dragon Boat Festival. With these rich materials, children can truly understand the Dragon Boat Festival more comprehensively and emotionally. But if that's all, the improvement of children's active learning ability can't be realized, and they can't experience the charm of festivals emotionally. Therefore, on the basis of children's spontaneous and independent collection of materials, children should be encouraged to express their feelings and abilities in various activities through a series of different forms of expression, such as painting activities, art activities, language activities, music activities, parent-child activities and situational games, and also have a more direct experience of the Dragon Boat Festival.

Third, use parents' resources to carry out traditional festival culture education in kindergartens.

Family education is the source of life education, and family is an important partner of kindergarten. Based on the principles of respect, equality and cooperation, we should strive for parents' understanding, support and active participation, and actively support and help parents improve their educational ability. Kindergartens should build a bridge of festival culture education with every parent, so that festival culture education can produce good educational benefits. We use the forms of "hometown contact bar", "parents' mailbox" and "theme wall" to distribute "holiday questionnaire" to every family at the arrival of each traditional festival to understand parents' understanding of the origin of traditional festivals and build an information platform for exchanging traditional festivals between families.
