What is the experience of installing a projection in the living room at home? Do you often use it?

When I was studying in America, I thought I would move all the time, so I never bought a TV, so I bought a projection instead. At that time, the living room and dining room of the apartment were connected together, so it looked very big. The simply decorated apartment has a whole wall to project, with good sound matching and good viewing experience. But it is also very disturbing. Most houses in America are made of wood, and the sound insulation effect is poor. Usually, when watching movies with projection, you don't need sound. However, it's still nice to have a party at home and watch a live broadcast or a movie with a bunch of people. Most houses in America have carpets. I remember that during the Spring Festival, a dozen people sat around the coffee table at home and watched the Spring Festival Gala with a projection. It's very festive and I don't feel like I'm in a foreign country thousands of miles away. I really feel like staying at home with my family. Sometimes I feel more comfortable on the sofa with my boyfriend, watching movies and eating snacks with projections than going to the cinema. If the TV at home is not big enough or there is no TV, projection is an option.
