Where is the oil pressure regulating valve?

The oil pressure regulating valve of Pacific Auto Network is usually installed on the oil filter seat. The oil pressure regulating valve is mainly used in the lubrication system of the engine, mainly to regulate the oil pressure and limit the lubrication system. If damaged, it will cause a low oil pressure alarm.

The function of the oil pressure regulating valve (also known as the pressure limiting valve) is to limit the maximum pressure of the lubrication system and prevent the lubrication system from generating too high pressure, thus causing damage to the lubrication system components and oil leakage.

Oil pressure fluctuates.

When the engine is idling, the oil pressure is normal, and when it is running at medium or high speed, the oil pressure fluctuates (the pointer of the oil pressure gauge swings back and forth between 0 ~ 0.6 MPa or vibrates), the main reasons are as follows:

(1) There is something wrong with the oil pump (for example, the gear is excessively worn or the fixing screw falls off), and the oil pump sucks air.

(2) The spring of the regulating valve or oil return valve is stuck by foreign matter, or the spring bends and rubs against the seat hole, which hinders the movement of the spring and makes it difficult to open and close the ball valve.

(3) The oil pan is short of oil, and the oil level is located at the limit position of the oil suction port of the filter screen, or there are impurities in the oil pipe but it is not completely blocked, so that the oil pump sometimes sucks oil, resulting in high and low oil pressure.

(4) Improper assembly or gluing of the pressure limiting valve will make the oil flow resistance unstable, or the oil pressure gauge will be damaged, which will also cause oil pressure fluctuation.
