BMW 3 Series Turbine Intake Valve Stuck

The fault of boost pressure adjustment of transmission system is not uncommon in BMW (especially N54 and N55 engines).

The following maintenance links:

1, starting with the simple pressurization regulating solenoid valve and intake pressure reducing valve, after a series of inspections, the problems of solenoid valve and vacuum system were eliminated.

2. Reading DME data, it is found that the boost pressure is about 1.06bar at normal no-load and 3500 rpm, and the computer measured data is 1060mbar, which is close to normal atmospheric pressure, and the data display is obviously small.

3. After a series of inspections, the interior of the exhaust pipe, three-way catalysis and timing system are all normal, and the filter screen of the solenoid valve is also clean.

When checking the turbine, the automobile maintenance master found a strange phenomenon. The N54 engine is a twin-turbo system. One of the two intake pipes of the turbine had a slight outward reaction when refueling, so he took the turbine apart and found that one of the turbines was stuck by the air valve and stopped running.

5. After removing the carbon deposits around the turbine blades, test run and read the pressure at the front end of the throttle valve, and find that the pressure at the front end is 1.3bar, and troubleshoot.
