Single camshaft has simple mechanical structure, few problems and large low-speed torque. The opening time of the intake valve and exhaust valve of a single camshaft is fixed, but the advantages of simple mechanical structure, convenient maintenance, economy and fuel saving are all single convex.

Advantages of dual camshaft: Because the valve overlap angle can be changed, it can exert relatively large horsepower, but the torque is insufficient at low speed, and it will be difficult to maintain because of the complicated mechanical structure.

According to the number of overhead camshafts, automobile engines are divided into overhead single camshaft and overhead double camshaft. When more than two valves are used in each cylinder, there are generally two valve arrangements: one is that the intake valve and the exhaust valve are mixed on one camshaft.
