August 7th or 8th every year is the "beginning of autumn" in the 24 solar terms. Beginning of autumn is the 13th solar term in a year and the first solar term in autumn. From the climatological point of view, beginning of autumn is not beginning of autumn. According to the standard of dividing seasons in modern climatology, the average daily temperature dropped below 22℃ in the second half of the year in beginning of autumn.

Climatic characteristics

Beginning of autumn has arrived, but not in autumn. The division of climatic seasons should be based on the "average climate temperature", that is, the local average temperature is below 22℃ for five consecutive days, which is the real autumn.

China is a vast country. Although the climate varies from place to place, most areas have not yet entered the autumn climate, and the last days of dog days are still the third day after beginning of autumn. Especially in the south of China, this solar term is still a hot summer. At the same time, because the typhoon and rainy season are about to pass and the temperature is even hotter, TCM calls the period from beginning of autumn to the autumnal equinox "long summer".

The earliest areas are in Qiu Lai, Heilongjiang and northern Xinjiang, and will also fall in mid-August. In general, the autumn wind in the capital Beijing will be cooler in early September, and the autumn around Qinhuai begins in mid-September. The autumn wind will blow to Lishui, Zhejiang, Nanchang, Jiangxi and Hengyang, Hunan 165438+ 10 in early June, and the news of autumn will reach Leizhou Peninsula, and the footsteps of autumn will reach the "ends of the earth".
