Does the electric car have a cylinder?

Does the electric car have a cylinder? What's the difference between automobile engine cylinders? Now, let's introduce it to you!

Brief introduction of automobile engine cylinder: introduction

Cylinder block is an important part of engine block. Strictly speaking, it is called the cylinder block between the cylinder head and the oil pan-crankcase! Because its upper part is one or several cylinders, and its lower part is the crankcase supporting the crankshaft! These two parts are usually cast together, and we usually call them cylinder block for short!

① Organize to determine the position of parts, ② ensure the standard accuracy of main parts, ③ install cooling water, adjust the temperature difference, ④ place lubricating oil channel, distribute lubricating oil, and ⑤ distribute it to the exhaust channel (refer to the side intake valve); ⑥ The sealing of cylinder block and cylinder head will make the pressure reach the ideal effect, and ⑥ the power generated by cylinder block can be transmitted through the follower. Introduction of Automobile Engine Cylinder: Common Faults

The sealing performance of cylinder head has a great influence on the technical condition of engine. When the cylinder head is not tightly sealed, the cylinder will leak air, resulting in insufficient compression pressure, lower temperature and lower air quality. When the air leakage in the cylinder is serious, the power of the engine will obviously decrease or even not work. Therefore, if there is a power drop fault in the engine operation, it is necessary to check whether the sealing performance of the cylinder head is good in addition to finding out the related fault causes that affect the power drop of the engine. The following small series will analyze the main reasons that affect the sealing performance of the engine cylinder head for reference.

1. Improper use and installation of cylinder gasket.

The cylinder gasket is installed between the cylinder block and the cylinder head of the engine. Its function is to ensure the sealing of the combustion chamber and prevent the leakage of gas, cooling water and lubricating oil. Therefore, the use and installation of cylinder gasket is not satisfactory, which will directly affect the sealing reliability of cylinder head and the service life of cylinder gasket.

In order to ensure the sealing quality, the selected cylinder gasket must be consistent with the specifications and thickness of the original cylinder, with a smooth surface and firm edges, without scratches, dents, wrinkles, rust spots and other phenomena. Otherwise, the sealing quality of the cylinder head will be affected.

2. The cylinder head slightly jumps.

The slight jump of the cylinder head is the result of the cylinder head trying to separate from the cylinder block under the action of compression and combustion pressure. These pressures will lengthen the connecting bolts of the cylinder head, causing the cylinder head to jump slightly relative to the cylinder block. This slight jump will loosen and compress the cylinder gasket, thus accelerating the damage of the cylinder gasket and affecting its sealing performance.

3. The connecting bolts of the cylinder head did not reach the specified torque value.

If the connecting bolts of the cylinder head are not tightened to the specified torque value, the cylinder pad wear caused by this slight jump will occur faster and more seriously. If the connecting bolts are too loose, the runout of the cylinder head relative to the cylinder block will increase. If the connecting bolt is screwed too tightly, the stress of the connecting bolt will exceed its yield strength limit, resulting in the elongation of the connecting bolt exceeding its design tolerance, which will also increase the runout of the cylinder head and accelerate the wear of the cylinder head gasket. Using the correct torque value and tightening the connecting bolts in the correct order can minimize the jump of the cylinder head relative to the cylinder block, thus ensuring the sealing quality of the cylinder head.

4. The flatness of the cylinder head or cylinder block is too large.

Warping deformation is a common problem of cylinder head, and it is also the main reason for repeated burning loss of cylinder gasket. Especially the aluminum alloy cylinder head is more prominent, because the aluminum alloy material has high heat conduction efficiency, the cylinder head is smaller and thinner than the cylinder body, and the temperature of the aluminum alloy cylinder head rises rapidly. When the cylinder head is deformed, the joint between it and the plane of the cylinder block will not be tight, and the sealing quality of the cylinder will decrease, resulting in air leakage and burning loss of the cylinder gasket, thus further deteriorating the sealing quality of the cylinder. If the cylinder head is seriously warped, it must be replaced.

5. Uneven cooling of cylinder surface

Uneven cooling of cylinder surface will form local hot spots. Local hot spots will lead to excessive expansion of small area metal of cylinder head or cylinder block, which will lead to extrusion damage of cylinder gasket. Due to the damage of the cylinder gasket, leakage and corrosion will occur and eventually burn through.

If the cylinder gasket is replaced before the cause of local hot spot is found, it will be useless, because the replaced cylinder gasket will eventually burn out. Local hot spots will also cause additional internal stress in the cylinder head itself, which will lead to cracks in the cylinder head. If the working temperature exceeds the normal temperature, local hot spots will also have serious negative effects. Any overheating will cause permanent deformation of cylinder block iron castings.

6. Problems related to coolant additives

When coolant is added to the coolant, air bubbles may be generated. Bubbles in the cooling system will cause the cylinder head gasket to fail. When there are bubbles in the cooling system, the coolant can't circulate normally in the system, so that the engine can't be cooled evenly, and local hot spots will appear, which will damage the cylinder gasket and lead to poor sealing. Therefore, in order to achieve uniform cooling of the engine, air must be exhausted from the engine when adding coolant.

Some robots use antifreeze in winter and water in summer, which is considered more economical. In fact, there will be endless troubles, because minerals in water are prone to scale and stick to water jackets, radiators and water temperature sensors. Due to the inaccurate temperature control of the engine, it will lead to overheating, even corrosion of the engine cylinder gasket, warping and deformation of the cylinder head, and cylinder burning. Therefore, antifreeze should also be used in summer.
