Do you need to warm up the car after it starts?
Abandoning the car after ignition is definitely a bad driving habit. If the car is not afraid to drive, it is afraid to let it go, and even more afraid of not maintaining it. Although the engine is not so exquisite, but the correct car habits and proper maintenance can not be ignored.
Some vehicles warm up for three to five minutes after starting, some warm up for more than 65,438+00 minutes, and some leave immediately after ignition. Do you want to warm the car?
Why do some old drivers spend a few minutes warming up their cars every time they start?
This needs to start with the structure of the automobile engine. Automobile engine has two important parts, carburetor and distributor, which are also the equipment that automobile maintenance workers are most afraid of. Maintenance is very difficult. Carburetor mainly regulates air-fuel ratio, which is a device that can mix fuel and air in a certain proportion.
The distributor is a device that can adjust the ignition advance angle of the engine. Mainly responsible for distributing the high voltage of the ignition coil to the spark plugs of each cylinder, and then the spark plugs ignite the mixture in the cylinder.
The normal operation of carburetor needs to be carried out at a certain temperature. If the required temperature cannot be reached, the oil supply system will not work normally, the idle speed will be unstable, and the power performance will be affected or even shut down. Therefore, after the cold car starts, you need to wait for the engine temperature to rise slowly.
Because the economy and emission of carburetor are not ideal, later models generally do not use carburetor, and are gradually replaced by single-point EFI and multi-point injection technology. Up to now, it has developed into new technologies such as in-cylinder direct injection. At present, only some motorcycles and agricultural machinery have carburetors.
At present, both EFI and direct injection modes are precisely controlled by the ECU of the driving computer according to the data of the vehicle at that time. After the vehicle is started, the rotation speed can return to normal in just a few seconds, and the influence of the engine and external temperature on it is almost negligible.
Although the current cars don't need to be heated in place, two habits should be paid attention to when the cold car just starts to avoid unnecessary damage to the engine.
After the car stopped, the oil pump stopped working. At this time, the oil between various parts of the engine will slowly flow back to the oil pan. We all know that engine oil has the functions of lubricating and reducing wear, cleaning the oil system and damping the engine.
When the engine is started again, it takes some time for the oil pump to deliver the oil to the parts. During this period, there is no oil film protection formed by oil. If the engine speed is too high at this time, it will naturally aggravate the wear between the engine bearings and parts.
That's why taxis work longer and have longer engine life, but the problem is that they often park private cars that are rarely used. The vehicle has been in a warm starting state, the oil can be effectively protected, and natural wear can be minimized. Of course, even if it is a cold start, as long as it is not driving at high speed, its wear and tear is not great, which belongs to the normal wear and tear range of the car, so don't care.
How to operate the car after a cold start?
When the car is just starting, don't slam on the accelerator and don't drive at once. At the beginning, we will find that the engine speed is generally higher. After a few seconds, the engine speed will return to the normal idle state (generally the engine speed is between 750 and 950), and then we can drive at a low speed.
In addition, 3-5 minutes after the car starts, try not to drive with the accelerator on, because the normal working temperature of the engine is about 80- 100 degrees Celsius, and to gradually increase to this temperature, the engine needs to continue working for about 5 minutes to reach the normal working temperature, which is conducive to the full play of its mechanical properties.
In the north, the temperature is low in winter. In this environment, it is often seen that many car owners warm up their cars for a long time. Actually, it's totally unnecessary. First of all, high performance is widely used in the north of synthetic engine oil. In a low temperature environment, the fluidity of oil is really poor.
At this time, after the vehicle is started, you can wait for the engine speed to return to normal at idle speed, or wait for about 30-60 seconds. During this time, the engine oil will slowly flow through the engine to form an oil film, and the engine temperature will gradually increase, so that it can run normally.
On the contrary, if the car is warmed up at idle speed for a long time, it is easy to form carbon deposit, which has a greater impact on the car. Scenes such as idle speed and stop-and-go in congested cities are more likely to form carbon deposits. When idling, the throttle is small and the engine speed is not high, so it is difficult to burn completely, which will only aggravate the formation of carbon deposits. So there is no need to warm the car for a long time.
Matters needing attention in automobile engine maintenance
1. Don't add too much oil. Be careful not to use inferior engine oil.
If inferior engine oil is used, it can not protect the engine well because of its poor oxidation resistance, poor lubrication and wear reduction, unclean oil circuit and poor high and low temperature performance. In the long run, it will only aggravate the wear between engine bearings and parts, and then lead to problems such as increased fuel consumption and decreased power performance.
When adding oil, the amount of oil should be controlled between the highest and lowest positions of the oil dipstick. If the engine oil is too full, it will increase the resistance when the crankshaft rotates, affect the work of the engine, and ultimately affect the power performance, and the corresponding fuel consumption will also increase.
2. Change the oil, air filter, gasoline filter and oil filter on time.
There will be all kinds of dust and impurity particles in the air, which will directly affect the combustion efficiency of the engine once they enter the cylinder and mix with the mixed gas. The air filter can effectively filter the tiny dust and impurities in the air, which is more conducive to full combustion.
Similarly, the gasoline filter mainly filters impurities that may exist in gasoline to ensure the purity of gasoline. Generally speaking, the fuel filter and air filter are replaced every 20-30 thousand kilometers, while the oil filter is replaced every time the oil is changed.
Regularly check the oil circuit, throttle valve, engine carbon deposit and other issues, and clean it when necessary to ensure the performance of the engine.
3. Fill the fuel according to the manufacturer's regulations.
For example, No.95 gasoline usually needs to be topped up. Don't choose to add 92 # gasoline to save money at this time. After all, different brands of gasoline have different antiknock properties. High-grade gasoline has a higher octane number, which is beneficial to reduce knocking during combustion. Don't worry about adding 92 # gasoline occasionally, which has no effect on the engine.
But don't add gasoline too often. After all, no matter how small the loss is, it will inevitably cause greater losses over the years. If 92 # gasoline is added to the model of 95 # gasoline, we will find that the sound of the engine is slightly louder, the sense of jitter is slightly obvious, and even the fuel consumption will increase.
But if the manufacturer stipulates to add 92 # gasoline, you can add 95 # and 98 # gasoline, which has no effect on the engine.
4. Check and add antifreeze in time.
After the automobile engine is started, the cylinder temperature can reach more than 500 degrees. When the piston compresses upward to do work, its local temperature reaches thousands of degrees Celsius, so it will also bring certain high temperature to the surrounding parts. At this time, the temperature is completely reduced by antifreeze and engine oil.
The antifreeze can prevent freezing in winter, boiling in summer, corrosion and scaling, fully protect the cooling system of the engine and improve the working efficiency of the engine. If you see that the residual liquid level of antifreeze is lower than the minimum value, remember to add antifreeze in time.
To sum up, for hot cars, you can wait for more than 30 seconds after starting, and wait for a few seconds for the engine speed to return to normal before driving. In fact, even if the accelerator is fully turned on immediately after starting, it will not have any impact in a short time. The real problem only slowly emerged after several years. Therefore, in addition to the necessary maintenance, just pay a little attention when driving, and there is no need to deliberately heat the car.
