Based on the study on the field overwintering ability of introduced colorful tree species Prunus purpurea, Prunus purpurea, Begonia ruby, Sambucus williamsii and Castanopsis kawakamii under different protection measures, combined with laboratory identification, the garden colorful tree species suitable for cultivation in central and western Inner Mongolia, with strong cold resistance and drought resistance, can be planted in the open air in winter were screened out. The results showed that Prunus mume, Prunus mume, Begonia ruby and Sambucus williamsii could overwinter safely under natural wintering conditions and could be introduced and planted in western Inner Mongolia. The survival rate of Castanopsis kawakamii in natural conditions is only 5.6%, so it is difficult to overwinter. In the electrical conductivity detection of these five tree species, the electrical conductivity of Prunus purpurea, Prunus purpurea, Malus ruby and Sambucus williamsii changed smoothly in the coldest months of 12, 1 and February, and Castanopsis kawakamii had the highest relative electrical conductivity and the worst cold resistance, corresponding to the field identification.
