Why do cars burn oil?

The engine burns oil for the following reasons:

1. Bad valve seal: The valve is designed to prevent oil from leaking into the combustion chamber. However, with the increase of service life, it will wear and age, make the valve sealing worse, and make the oil easily enter the combustion chamber.

2. The piston clearance becomes larger: after long-term operation, there will be carbon deposition on the piston and a certain degree of wear and tear. With the passage of time, the piston clearance becomes larger, and the oil enters the combustion chamber more easily. This is also often said, the vehicle has been used for a long time, so it is necessary to replace the oil with higher viscosity.

3. The viscosity of engine oil is too small: if the viscosity of engine oil used is too small, the phenomenon of burning engine oil will also occur. When the viscosity of engine oil is too small, it has good fluidity and is easy to escape into the cylinder and then participate in combustion.

4. Too much oil: If the oil pressure is too high, part of the oil will be pressed into the cylinder, causing the oil to burn. The solution of burning engine oil in automobile engine is to repair the engine, clean up the carbon deposit in the engine and replace the damaged parts. If the situation is serious, the engine needs overhaul.
