What is the time value of the rhythm of footwork? It is the absolute quickness when the overall shape of oneself remains unchanged!
What are the benefits of a footwork rhythm that has reached its own time value and how does it differ from normal footwork?
Our footwork (which is not strictly unique to us, as it is in many traditional Chinese martial arts) is absolutely different from the walking and sliding footwork of modern combat arts such as sparring and boxing! When the time value of the practitioner's footwork slightly reaches the time value of the rhythm, his state will immediately be different. When attacking, he will pounce on the opponent with the same momentum and speed as the angry waves beating the shore and the autumn wind sweeping away the leaves. Opponents can not blink his eyes in front of him; retreat, he will be like a snake, rabbit-like swiftness, keen, in the strike came to the moment can draw away! So it is not too much to say that the footwork is described as "mad cow and angry tiger"! Those who have personally tested it are all of the same words: "Fast! Scary!"
This state of footwork is trained with "rhythm". Then, the rhythm of the footwork is how to train? Please listen to me in detail:
To "rhythm" training success, must pay attention to the following four points: always pay attention to maintain the leg stakes; skillful mastery of the "high-frequency tremor" use; master the ability to change the foot at great speed; pay attention to the coordination of the body method.
(1) Keeping the stance of the legs at all times means that the legs, especially the back legs, should be kept in a certain state of bending at all times! The front leg extends forward a little or backward a little it does not matter, but the back leg must maintain the state when standing pile! Why? This is because whether it is a punch or a kick or a step, the power is transmitted from the feet (especially the back leg). If the back leg is straight, just sliding is not so bad, but it is much harder to get out of the characteristic crumbling and bouncing power of the footwork. Instead of letting the back leg go from a straight state to a bent state and then to an unstable state to shoot the body out, it is better to let the back leg stay properly bent from the beginning, which will greatly shorten the start-up time when launching the attack! Have you ever seen the state of a cat's body when it is about to launch an attack? It's all bowed and scrunched up, like a spring compressing. When the body springs out, it is like a spring collapsing and popping up. So our fighting style should be like a cat's, to have a state of collapse and pop up at any time!
(2) Skillful mastery of "high-frequency tremor". "High-frequency tremor" is my description of the state of the body and legs at the moment of initiation of the power of the footwork. The rhythm of the footwork is very important! The rhythm should be completed within one beat of "yes", without any sense of delay. The general requirement is that at the moment of power walking, the front leg (foot) has a slight stepping action at the start. The back foot should be lifted and stepped down and then quickly sprung up by the force obtained from the action and reaction forces, and then change the foot movement. This "stepping motion" is never to lift the foot and step hard on the ground, but by virtue of the moment of displacement of the front foot, by virtue of the force of rebound (reaction force), so that the other leg quickly responds to make the corresponding movement. During this time, the body should be shaken, the hip joints should be shaken; the hands should be cooperated with it, and the steps should be driven backward and retrograde. In short, when the step moves, the whole body has no immobility, and no follow each other. It can be said that "high-frequency tremor" is the key to practicing the "mad cow and angry tiger" style of footwork! People who do not have or do not know the training method of "High Frequency Tremor" can hardly grasp the essence of footwork. A "master" openly declared in his book that "this kind of footwork training has been basically lost", what a joke! What a joke! Do you think that your martial art is the only one that has this kind of training method, "the only one, no other"? I can tell you responsibly: this training method has not been lost! Besides us, there are many other schools that have this training method.
(3) Mastering the ability to change feet at breakneck speed. Rapid footwork changes may seem like a small action, but it is the key to the frequency of footwork changes. Only the rapid "stepping" of the front and rear feet, the waist and hips floating and rotating out of shape, and the weightlessness of the body's instantaneous orientation can ensure that the frequency of the footwork is greatly accelerated.
(4), pay attention to the body's cooperation: the body's cooperation refers to the body in the footwork movement to move. Don't be dull. The body should always do with the footwork movement in the opposite direction of the non-directional momentary out-of-control state. For example, when the front foot moves horizontally and the back foot moves forward, the body should be tilted and "crooked" in the same direction at the moment when the front foot moves horizontally. Only when the body and footwork are coordinated, the legs can be freed from the burden of weight, free and fast movement!
