The first two can be used by scholars and princes, while the latter two can only be used in high-level buildings such as palaces or Wenwu temples.

Bucket arch is a unique building in China traditional architecture. It has three functions: first, it supports the huge roof eaves and reduces the span of beams; Second, the gravity of the roof and superstructure is gradually concentrated and transferred to the columns; The third is to play a decorative role. In the same single building, the level with bucket arches is higher than that without bucket arches.

Roof forms include Ding Dian with four slopes and five ridges, sloping roof with four slopes and nine ridges, and various shapes such as hanging mountain and hard mountain. Double-eaved roofs are used in the most advanced buildings; Second-class double eaves rest on the top of the mountain, majestic and exquisite; The third is the roof of the single eaves palace; The fourth is the single eaves resting on the top of the mountain, and there are many such buildings; The fifth is the solemn and generous hanging mountain top; The sixth category is a simple hard mountain top. If the gable is stepped above the roof, it is a horse head wall; The seventh place and the eighth place are the pyramid roof and Wan Ding.
