Protection of Chinese Flower Arrangement

June 14, 2008 is the third cultural heritage day in China. On this day, the State Council announced the second batch of national intangible cultural heritage list. The traditional flower arrangement declared by Beijing Forestry University is on the list. This is also the only declared project of China forestry system.

As the birthplace of oriental flower arrangement art, China has almost cut off the traditional flower arrangement art. Due to the lack of Chinese people's understanding of the traditional flower arrangement art, the lack of professional researchers and the shortage of research funds, it is difficult to conduct in-depth resource investigation and excavation, and the traditional flower arrangement art has not really entered public life.

From 65438 to 0987, Professor Lianying Wang and Professor Qin Kuijie of Beijing Forestry University led the establishment of the Beijing Flower Arrangement Art Research Association, which has been devoted to the research, protection and inheritance of traditional flower arrangement art. They published a large number of works, promoted and inherited it vigorously while excavating and sorting out the history, theory and skills of traditional flower arrangement, and led many graduate students to study the theory and skills of traditional flower arrangement.

After entering the national intangible cultural heritage list, the protection of flower arrangement art has a long way to go. It is understood that Beilin University will start a general survey, conduct rescue excavations from archaeological relics and existing history books, sort out the materials and pictures of flower arrangement in previous dynasties, and systematically sort them out; Incorporate China's traditional flower arrangement art into the quality education system of universities, middle schools and primary schools, and set up flower arrangement art specialty in relevant universities; Use various forms to increase publicity and promotion; On the basis of inheritance, create an art form of flower arrangement that conforms to the national conditions and the public; Strengthen academic exchanges and cooperation at home and abroad, so that China's traditional flower arrangement art can reappear in the world flower arrangement field.
