Industrial Contribution of China National Foodstuffs Corporation

China Foods Group was established and developed along with the reform and opening up of China's food industry. During the transition period from planned economy to market economy in China, CFIG has made historic contributions to the development of China's food industry by exploring the opening up of the food industry to the outside world, establishing the demonstration of industrialization of new technological products, revitalizing the national traditional food products and fostering the development of local food industry.

In 1984, the company invested in the Shenzhen SAR to set up China Electronic Kitchenware Co., Ltd. and organized the import of fast food production lines, beverage production lines and other international advanced technology and equipment, and invested in the construction of the local Chinese Kitchen Building and production enterprises. Successively invested in the establishment of Shenzhen Brewery (the predecessor of Kingway Brewery), meat processing food, beverage, kitchenware processing and other projects. In the early years, the Chinese food people carried forward the spirit of the pioneering cattle to forge ahead, and actively participated in the economic construction of China's earliest special administrative region, contributing to the development of China's food industry and the local economy.

In 1984, a joint venture agreement was signed with the Coca-Cola Company of the United States, the world's No.1 brand of carbonated beverages, in Beijing, and a three-party joint venture was set up with Tianjin Beverage Factory to establish a soda main agent plant to provide raw milk for the Coca-Cola filling plants nationwide and introduce Coca-Cola beverages into China. On this basis, in 1989, China Foods Group cooperated with the Coca-Cola Company of the United States and invested in the establishment of Tianjin Jinmei Beverage Co., Ltd. which became a demonstration training center for centralized production and decentralized filling in China's beverage industry at that time. This move comprehensively promoted the progress of China's beverage machinery manufacturing, can making, bottle making, plastics, sugar, coolers and food additives industries, and improved the overall level of China's beverage industry.

In 1985, the company invested in the construction of a refrigerated truck plant in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu Province, and created a new field of cold chain transportation in China by importing advanced foreign hosts to manufacture refrigerated trucks, with domestic refrigerated trucks as the leading manufacturer.

In 1985, we took the lead in introducing production lines of instant rice and frozen food (dumplings and buns) from Japan, and established the first batch of fast-food production enterprises in China, such as Beijing Yingbin Fast Food Company, Anhui Maanshan Fast Food Factory, Anhui Fuyang Meat Processing Plant, etc. This move promoted the development of traditional food products in China. This move promoted the industrialization of traditional food in China and laid the foundation for the rise of fast food such as frozen dumplings, frozen buns and staple kitchens in the future.

In 1986, the former State Economic Commission approved the establishment of the China Traditional Foods Corporation. This is the first company in China to support and manage traditional food, and has played an important role in promoting the development of traditional food in China, realizing the industrialization and standardization of traditional food production as well as improving the supply of raw materials to traditional food producers.

In 1992, we invested in the establishment of China Food Industry Supply and Marketing Corporation to provide services for the import and export of raw materials as well as the supply and marketing of products for food enterprises in China.

In 1993, we invested in the construction of Zhaoqing Rice Products Factory in Zhaoqing, Guangdong Province, and took the lead in introducing Japan's advanced production equipment for the production of convenient rice flour, utilizing local resources to develop food products and realizing the industrialized production of traditional food products.

In 1995, we cooperated with Red Bull Group of Thailand and established the first "Red Bull Vitamin Drinks Co. Its unique production formula was specially approved for use by the Ministry of Health, and it was the first joint venture with foreign countries to produce sports functional drinks.

In 1994, China Food Group founded the industry publication "National Food Industry Information" to provide services to the industry with its profound industry background and unique information channels. After years of development, the publication has now become a series of journals such as "Chinese and Foreign Food" and "Chinese and Foreign Food Industry" approved by the State General Administration of Press and Publication for domestic and international public circulation. Strength and influence continue to improve, and has become a core publication in the industry.

In 2000, we invested in Beijing Huafood Food Co., Ltd. in Tongzhou District, Beijing, to cooperate with the government's soybean action plan to optimize the dietary structure of the nation, and to carry out the development and utilization of soybean resources.

In 2001, China Foods Group established "China Foods Shennai (Yanjiao) Biological Products Co., Ltd." in Yanjiao Economic and Technological Development Zone of Hebei Province, and cooperated with Xinjiang Hops Co., Ltd. in the self-development and production of carrot fruit and vegetable beverages, and the establishment of a demonstration base for the industrialization of new beverage technology and new products.

Approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China in 2003, China Foods Group established the (National) Food Industry Productivity Promotion Center (CFIPPC), which is a professional service organization in China's food industry. The Center has made full use of the various resources in the industry to actively carry out its work, and has undertaken a number of research projects of the State Food and Drug Administration and related parties.

During the Eighth Five-Year Plan and the Ninth Five-Year Plan, CFIPPC was entrusted by the former State Planning Commission and the State Economic Commission to organize and validate the special loan projects for the capital construction and technological transformation of the national food industry and to supervise and manage the implementation of the projects. It also supervised and managed the implementation of the projects. According to the national industrial policy, through scientific evaluation and selection, it has ****arranged nearly 600 million yuan of loan plans for national food industry capital construction and technological transformation projects, providing support for more than 200 projects in more than 20 food categories in a dozen provinces, cities and regions across the country. Involved in the field of convenience fast food, sugar, dairy products, beverages, frozen preservation, food additives, yellow wine, alcohol, monosodium glutamate, enzyme preparations, deep processing of grain and oil, starch processing, the development and utilization of plant proteins, meat processing, aquatic products, aquaculture, livestock and poultry processing and other industries. The investment of these funds to effectively promote the transformation of scientific and technological achievements and technological progress in the food industry, industrial upgrading, optimize the industrial structure and achieved better economic and social benefits. At the same time on the development and utilization of local resources, fostering the local food industry and drive the development of related industries has played an important role. A considerable part of these projects have reached the international advanced level and become the model enterprises of the industry at that time.

The "20,000 tons of monosodium glutamate technical transformation project" implemented by Hangzhou Fenghui Fermentation Company Limited (the former Hangzhou MSG Factory) has expanded the scale of production and lowered the cost of production through the introduction of foreign bacterial strains, the use of advanced technology and equipment and other technological reforms and infrastructural measures, which made the enterprise become the top large-scale export enterprise of the monosodium glutamate industry with the highest indexes in China. It made the enterprise become a large-scale export enterprise which ranked top in all indicators of MSG industry in China at that time, and promoted the technological progress of the industry.

The "10,000-ton mechanized yellow wine transformation project" implemented by Zhejiang Jiashan Yellow Wine Co., Ltd. made the enterprise become the first demonstration enterprise in China to realize the industrialization of yellow wine production by adopting mechanized production line to replace the traditional fermentation process for the production of yellow wine.

In 1985, the company invested in the construction of a refrigerated truck factory in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu Province, and started a new field of cold chain transportation in China by importing advanced foreign hosts to manufacture refrigerated trucks.

The diatomaceous earth filter aid project implemented in Mehekou Yinhe Filter Aid Co., Ltd. in Jilin Province realized the localization of diatomaceous earth filter aid for the beer industry for the first time, which lowered the production cost of the beer industry in China.

The "Adoption of Biotechnology to Produce -ɑ Acetyl Lactic Acid Decarboxylase Technological Reform Project" implemented in Xingtai Enzyme Preparation Plant of Hebei Province promotes the industrialization of scientific and technological achievements, fills in the gaps in the production of -ɑ Acetyl Lactic Acid Decarboxylase in our country, improves the quality of beer products, and pushes forward the development of the industry.

The "Alcohol Waste Liquid Comprehensive Utilization Project" implemented by Taicang Brewery in Jiangsu Province adopts advanced equipments and techniques, utilizes imported cassava raw materials to process food-grade high-quality alcohol, and at the same time comprehensively utilizes the alcohol waste liquid to produce feed protein yeast. The project made the enterprise achieved good economic and social benefits, and became the key export enterprises in the national alcohol industry at that time.

The "Cocoa Butter Processing Technology Reform Project" implemented by Zhejiang Shaoxing Xingguang Cocoa Products Co., Ltd. realized product upgrading through the introduction of advanced equipments and technologies. It not only promotes the development of China's cocoa processing industry, but also makes the enterprise become the raw material supplier of domestic and foreign high-grade chocolate manufacturers.

Jiangsu Dongchen Oil & Grease Group Company implemented the "comprehensive utilization of soybean processing project", which adopts advanced technology in oil and grease processing to comprehensively utilize soybean raw materials to extract lecithin, thus establishing China's first production of lecithin health care products enterprises.

The "Casein Processing Technological Reform Project" implemented by Lanzhou Tongjian Biological Products Co., Ltd. utilizes high-tech development of Tibetan resources, extracts high-quality casein from yak milk, and develops peptide health care products, which makes the company develop into the largest producer of casein exported from China at that time.
