Representative Works of Liaoning Drum Music
Early Liaoning drum music was mainly composed of sheng and pipe music, but suona music flourished in the Ming Dynasty, and after a long period of growth and development, suona music matured and became complete around the end of the 18th century, and merged with sheng and pipe music to form Liaoning drum music with today's pattern. Liaoning drum music can be divided into six local styles, including Liaonan, Liaosi, Liaodong, Shenyang, Liaobei and Chaoyang, in terms of style, repertoire and instruments used. The repertoire is rich in various places, roughly including suona music, big brand song, small brand song, gong plate song and other categories. Among them, a large number of ancient pieces from the Tang, Song, Yuan and Ming periods have been preserved, such as "Four Broken" and "Liu Qingniang". The common repertoire of Liaoning Drum Music includes "Work Ruler", "Plum Blossom Tune", "Serving Vegetable Song", "Sentence Double" and "Gui Zhi Hua".
