Methods of improving interpersonal communication in management science

Drucker mentioned that simply improving the communication style or atmosphere cannot fundamentally improve the quality of communication, whether it is more frequent communication, more listening or more secret communication. Although many communication methods help to establish interpersonal relationships, if they are not based on the same goal of pursuing performance, then this kind of interpersonal relationship is unhealthy. People are keen to discuss where, when and with what carrier to communicate, but seldom pay attention to the simple communication itself. Only when the communication itself is good can it be effective to change the means of communication, otherwise it will be futile to spend more money on communication.

The essence of communication is like two people talking to each other and must rely on the same language. On the other hand, communication in management requires both sides to establish similar perception, that is, to understand the problem from a similar angle, and then the necessary "communication language" will be produced, which requires both sides to have the same basis for cognition of the same thing. Otherwise, it's like two people talking, although they use the same vocabulary, but they have different understandings, so the information received by the other party is not expressed by them. For example, in the process of communication between superiors and subordinates, if the subordinates can't understand the environment, the factors that affect their thinking, or the knowledge field of the superiors to a certain extent, it will often lead to extremely arduous communication, or misunderstand the other party but never find it. This phenomenon can be improved by organizing learning and cultivating employees' comprehensive thinking ability.

In addition, we must pay special attention to communication methods. Because communication is often accompanied by strong hints, the receiver feels that there are more meanings hidden in the words, such as some requirements or some comments, but many times they are misunderstandings. This needs to create a communication foundation for the organization, that is, at least let managers learn to express what they need to express frankly, and make clear requirements and evaluations.
