What is the working principle of new energy vehicles?

New energy vehicles are divided into electric vehicles and hybrid vehicles, and their working principles are different.

Electric Vehicle (EV) is a pure electric drive system (EDS), which uses battery pack as power source, and converts electric energy into mechanical energy through motor to drive the vehicle forward. The power system of electric vehicle mainly includes motor, electronic control system and battery. Battery pack is the energy source of electric vehicles. The electric control system controls the charging and discharging of the battery, the starting, stopping and steering functions of the motor, and also automatically controls the speed and output torque of the motor.

Different from pure electric vehicles, a Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) is a vehicle equipped with an internal combustion engine and an electric motor, and the two power systems work together. HEV system includes internal combustion engine, motor, electronic control system and energy storage system. The internal combustion engine can convert fuel into mechanical energy and also provide electric energy for the motor. The motor is mainly responsible for assisting the power output and starting of the internal combustion engine. The energy storage system includes batteries and supercapacitors, which are used to store electric energy and recover braking energy.

Whether it is an electric vehicle or a hybrid vehicle, their power systems are mainly driven by electric energy, which has no tail gas and low pollution, and is one of the important carriers to promote clean energy transportation.
