icloud service and operation why choose "cloud on Guizhou"?

In fact, Apple's choice to partner with CloudGuizhou was a choice made under Chinese regulatory policy.

According to domestic regulatory requirements, personal information and important data collected and generated by operators of critical information infrastructures (CIIs) operating in China should be stored there. Moreover, China restarted the licensing of IDCs (Internet data centers) a few years ago, and foreign companies are not allowed to be involved in data center operations.

So it's almost impossible for Apple to build and operate a data center in China on its own. The only solution is to cooperate with domestic companies that have IDC licenses.

The person in charge said that Apple's final choice of CloudGuizhou has a lot to do with the ecological development of big data industry in Guizhou in recent years. In addition to cool weather, stable geological conditions and adequate power and perfect network infrastructure, after four years of development, Guizhou has a good foundation for the big data industry, Microsoft, Qualcomm, Foxconn, Huawei, Alibaba, Tencent, Baidu and other companies have invested in Guizhou, a large number of big data enterprises have risen. In particular, the approval of the construction of the first national big data comprehensive test area, so that Guizhou in the development of big data, more support from the national level.

Hu Haibo believes that the cooperation between CloudGuizhou and Apple is an innovative case of the country opening up to the outside world. According to Hu Haibo's estimation, iCloud operation alone will bring more than 1 billion U.S. dollars of stable income to the company every year. In the future, the two sides may further deepen their cooperation, which is expected to expand to other service areas.

For Guizhou, Apple's project is the largest investment in Guizhou province since the launch of the big data strategic action, and it will surely have a huge leading role in the province's cloud computing industry. The butterfly effect of Apple's "landing" is said to be showing up, and other international tech giants are also coming to Guizhou in hopes of cooperating with the province.

Committed to improving user experience

The announcements by Guizhou and Apple both point to the same goal: improving user experience.

Back in 2011, Apple officially launched its iCloud service. Since then, users have been able to upload photos, documents, memos, contacts, and more to iCloud and keep them automatically updated on all Apple devices, as well as perform data recovery when necessary.

But previously, since the iCloud service did not have a data center in China, users accessing iCloud needed to connect to Apple's data center in the U.S. state of Becca Lerona before jumping back to China. China and the United States are separated by thousands of miles. Such a distance produces not beauty, but all kinds of network delays, timeouts and inaccessibility.

After iCloud is operated by Guizhou on the Cloud, all Chinese users' iCloud files will be moved to the country one after another. This means that when users access iCloud in the future, the network will be more stable, download speeds will be faster, and packet loss and network delays will be dramatically reduced.

It is obvious that Apple's establishment of a data center in Gui'an New Area will not only improve the performance of iCloud, but also reduce the cost of data storage, transmission and other aspects. In the future, Apple does not rule out the possibility of lowering the cost of iCloud-related services.
