What do you know about learning ink painting?

Chinese painting is an art rooted in the soil of the Chinese nation, but not many people can really understand it. With my curiosity and exploration of Chinese painting, I chose the course "Appreciation and Basic Techniques of Chinese Painting Works". Under the guidance of the teacher, we enjoyed many excellent Chinese paintings and learned to draw meticulous paintings, ink paintings, freehand peony and so on. Although I can't understand the essence of China traditional culture, under the influence of my teacher, I have some superficial understanding and experience of Chinese painting. I understand that to appreciate a Chinese painting, to appreciate its artistic conception and realm, only works that create artistic conception for the viewer are good paintings. For example, "I will walk to the water to check my path, and then sit and watch the rising clouds", which contains infinite charm and is poetic. Painting should also be like this. There are endless meanings outside painting, which is called painting meaning, and this is the realm of artistic conception. The ancients said, "Don't put pen to paper because your character is not high." I agree with this statement. For example, if a person has no tolerance, painting will have no artistic conception and charm. If a person pays special attention to his temperament, then his pen and ink will be less flashy and more beautiful.

Chinese painting can be subdivided into ink painting, heavy color, light crimson, meticulous painting, freehand brushwork and line drawing according to its materials and expression methods. According to their themes, there are figure paintings, landscape paintings and flower-and-bird paintings. There are many forms of Chinese painting, such as long scrolls, horizontal curtains, banners, nave, book pages and folding fans.

In ancient China, Chinese painting was generally called Danqing, which mainly refers to scroll painting painted on silk and paper and mounted. Chinese painting has a long history. As early as 2000 years ago, silk paintings appeared in the Warring States period, before which there were primitive rock paintings and painted pottery paintings. During the Han, Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties, the society changed rapidly from stable unity to division, and religious paintings were the main paintings, and landscape paintings and flower-and-bird paintings also sprouted at this time. During the Sui and Tang Dynasties, the society was highly prosperous, and painting also showed all-round prosperity. Landscape painting and flower-and-bird painting have matured, religious painting has reached its peak, and there is a tendency of secularization. During the Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, ink and wash landscapes and freehand brushwork flowers and birds got outstanding development, and literati painting became the mainstream of Chinese painting, but its final flow was imitation. From the end of 19, western artistic expression and artistic concept have been introduced into Chinese painting for a hundred years. After 19, a large number of painters gathered in the political and economic center cities, such as Zhang Daqian and others represented by Shanghai. Northern painters with Beijing as the center are Qi Baishi, and Lingnan painters with Guangzhou as the center are Huang Junbi and others.
