The Influence of Narrative Prose in Pre-Qin Period
In the pre-Qin period, China's prose developed from germination to maturity. The culture of ancient historiographers in China was very developed, and narrative prose describing historical events was first established in the history of prose. Oracle Bone Inscriptions and Jinwen in Yin and Shang Dynasties are the earliest notes of China, while Shangshu and Chunqiu provide different styles of notes. The emergence of historical prose such as Zuo Zhuan, Guoyu and Warring States Policy marks the maturity of narrative writing and opens the tradition of China's narrative literature. The style, thought and writing art of narrative prose in the pre-Qin period have a direct inspiration to the creation of historical biography literature in later generations. The narrative art of pre-Qin narrative prose plays an important role in the emergence and development of China's ancient novels and the formation of its unique artistic personality.
