Where should food testing go?

Food testing should go to the testing center, health department and quality inspection bureau under the Food and Drug Administration for testing.

Food inspection refers to the research and evaluation of food quality and its changes. According to some basic theories and technologies of physics, chemistry and biochemistry, and established technical standards, such as international and national food hygiene/safety standards, the quality of food raw materials, auxiliary materials, semi-finished products, finished products and by-products is inspected to ensure the quality of products is qualified. The contents of food inspection include sensory inspection of food, detection of nutrients, additives and harmful substances in food, etc.

The contents of food inspection are very rich, including the analysis of food nutrients, the analysis of pollutants in food, the analysis of food accessories and food additives, and the sensory evaluation of food. In a narrow sense, food inspection usually refers to the inspection of food quality by food inspection institutions according to the hygienic standards stipulated in the Food Hygiene Law of People's Republic of China (PRC), including the inspection of food outer packaging, inner packaging, marks, labels, physical and chemical indicators and other hygienic indicators. The inspection methods mainly include sensory inspection and physical and chemical inspection.

The indexes of food inspection mainly include general component analysis, trace element analysis, pesticide residue analysis, veterinary drug residue analysis, mycotoxin analysis, food additive analysis and other harmful substances analysis. According to the characteristics of the inspected items, the inspection of each index corresponds to the corresponding inspection method.

In addition to the traditional routine analysis methods, instrumental analysis methods have gradually become the main means of food hygiene inspection, including spectrophotometry, atomic fluorescence spectrometry, electrochemistry, atomic absorption spectrometry, gas chromatography, high performance liquid chromatography and so on. The above inspection methods can be roughly divided into inorganic component analysis method and organic component analysis method according to inspection items.
