Origami tiger folding
The steps to fold an origami tiger are as follows:
1. Prepare a square piece of origami paper. Fold the bottom of the paper upwards and then fold the sides towards the center point to form the tiger's tail. Then, fold both sides of the paper along the centerline to form the tiger's limbs. Next, fold the top half of the paper downward, leaving a section for the tiger's head.
2. You can see that the basic shape of the tiger is beginning to emerge. Next, work on the details. Fold the two corners of the paper upwards to form the tiger's ears. Then, draw the tiger's eyes, nose and mouth with a pen to make it more realistic.
3. To make the tiger look more vivid, you can use scissors to cut out some stripes on the paper's tiger to add dimension to it. Remember, these stripes should not be too deep so as not to cut the paper.
4. Adjust the tiger's limbs and tail to your liking, and a cute tiger origami work is finished. If you want the tiger to be more energetic, you can add some colors to the origami paper.
The origin of paper tiger:
Paper tigers originated in the Tang Dynasty, when people made simple paper tiger toys by gluing paper onto tiger skins for children's toys or masks. Later, paper tigers gradually evolved into a kind of folk art and cultural symbols, and were widely used in various folk activities and performances.
The image of a paper tiger is usually a big tiger, but different from the real tiger, its body and head proportion is more exaggerated, the body shows a kind of fat state, and the head shows a kind of cartoonish characteristics. The image of the paper tiger often gives people a lovely, naive feeling, which makes it become a favorite cultural image.
In traditional Chinese culture, paper tigers are endowed with symbols such as warding off evil spirits, eliminating disasters and praying for good fortune. In some places, people make paper tigers and put them in their homes or wear them on their bodies to bless their families with peace and health. In addition, paper tigers are also used in various folk performances, such as lion dances and dragon dances, as props or decorations.
Besides Chinese traditional culture, paper tigers are also widely used in other cultures. For example, in traditional Japanese culture, paper tigers are seen as a symbol that can bring good luck and strength, and are known as fukusuke tigers or fukuroku. In American culture, paper tigers are used in children's games and are known as Tiger Paper, a collapsible toy.
