Guozhai Town

Guozhai Town is the name of the historical township of Danyang City, now the whole town is incorporated into the Huxi Town, now Huxi Town Guozhai Village. Located in the middle of Dongyang City, Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province, 33 kilometers from the city of Dongyang, east of Dongyangjiang Town, west of Huxi Town border, south of Huxi Town border, north of Riling and Beijiang Town. Guozhai town has a total area of 29.9 square kilometers, jurisdiction over 28 administrative villages. The people's government of Guozhai Township is located in Guozhai, which is divided into three administrative villages, namely Guoyi, Hushan and Zengfeng. Nanguo, Huxi and other three highways through the town of Guozhai, has always been the main traffic area of Dongyang, known as "ten miles long street" of the name.

Through the efforts of village sage Guo Hangwei[1][2] and others, Guozhai became one of the first batch of provincial-level traditional villages in Zhejiang Province in April 2019[2][3] and one of the fifth batch of Chinese traditional villages in June 2019[2][4].

Township Overview

Guozhai Township was founded in the fourth year of the Song Xianping (1001), originally Xiaoshun Township, Yuan and Ming inherited the Song system. Ancestors in the Ming Dynasty Yongle years (both in 1403 AD) in order to comply with the wishes of the ancestors, thanks to the Jin Hou Temple Hu Gong Da Di grace, casting a pair of large candles, every first month of the eighteenth temple will be lifted, so far there are more than 600 years of history. Once used the name of Shidong Township, Guozhai Township, Lighthouse Commune, Guozhai Township, formed township. 1956 Baiquan, Xiangshan, Xichou, Houtian and other townships into the township. 1958 belongs to the Lake Stream Commune Guozhai Management District, changed to the Lighthouse Commune in 1961, renamed Guozhai Township in 1983, changed to a township people's government in Guozhai in 1993, divided into Guo Yi, Hushan, Zengfeng three administrative villages.

Guozhai town belongs to the subtropical oceanic monsoon climate, warm and humid throughout the year, the average annual temperature of 19 ℃ - 21 ℃, frost-free period of 352 days, the average annual precipitation of 1755mm, the average relative humidity between 65 ﹪ - 80 ﹪. The topography is obvious, high in the east and north, and low in the middle and south; it belongs to the hilly area of central Zhejiang with mountains and water. Guozhai town mountain 189,000 acres, of which 35,000 acres of moso bamboo area, timber storage capacity of 500,000 cubic meters, moso bamboo storage capacity of 4.37 million, the forest coverage rate of 83 ﹪, agriculture to grain crops, rice, sweet potatoes, mainly.

September 30, 2003 Zhejiang political letter [2003] No. 151 approval, agreed to Dongyang City administrative division adjustment. The abolition of Guozhai Township, and Huxi Township merger. After the adjustment, Huxi Township jurisdiction over 75 villages, the township government station remains unchanged (Huxi Village).
