The "Three Disciplines and Eight Points of Attention" is the fine tradition and code of conduct of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), reflecting the essence and purpose of the People's Army.

The Eight Points of Attention:

Speak kindly,

Buy and sell fairly,

Borrow something and return it,

Damage something and pay for it,

Don't beat and scold people,

Don't damage crops,

Don't molest women,

Not mistreat captives.

The Three Great Disciplines:

Listen to the command in all actions,

Don't take a single needle or thread from the masses,

All seizures are to be returned to the public.
