The moral of Spring Festival couplets
The earliest prototype of Spring Festival couplets is "Fu Tao". Made in Fu Tao, it's two or three feet long and four or five inches big, with the idol Bai Ze painted on it and the book left Lei Yu and right Shen Tu. Or write spring poems, or book prayers, especially when Dan is old. Painting idols is mainly to ward off ghosts and evil spirits, and writing spring poems is mainly to pray for good luck. After several evolutions, this has formed two major veins: door gods, New Year pictures, spring stickers and Spring Festival couplets.
Spring Festival couplets, also known as "spring stickers", "door pairs" and "couplets", are one of the red festive elements "Year Red" posted during the New Year. It depicts a beautiful image and expresses good wishes with neat, concise and exquisite words. It is a unique literary form in China and an important custom for Chinese New Year in China.
