Nuclear carving is a traditional folk micro-carving craft in China. The carving techniques of peach pit, apricot pit, olive pit and walnut have been included in the second batch of national intangible cultural heritage list.
Mr. Du Chuangong is the third generation authentic descendant of the existing Weifang nuclear carving. His works are exquisite in craftsmanship, rich in pictures and lifelike. At the age of 9, he began to study calligraphy, painting, nuclear carving and seal cutting with his grandfather Dou Langui. Later, he gradually became interested in nuclear carving. After graduation, I worked in Weifang silver inlay factory.
Teacher Wang Xude, as the representative inheritor of Weifang nuclear carving, carved his nuclear ship beautifully. The doors and windows on the nuclear boat are movable and can be opened freely, especially the anchor chain suspended at the stern, which is connected by 45 oval rings as small as rice grains and as thin as hair, and each section can rotate freely.
