What does metalworking mean?

Metal processing refers to the production activities of human beings to process materials with metal characteristics composed of metal elements or mainly metal elements. Metal processing methods and processes include casting and plastic forming. Casting: refers to the melting of metal by heating and pouring it into the model, which is suitable for processing parts with complex shapes.

Plastic molding processing includes:

Forging: Under the condition of cold working or high temperature operation, metal is shaped by beating and extrusion, which is one of the simplest and oldest metal modeling processes.

Matching: The high-temperature metal blank passes through several continuous cylindrical rollers, and the rollers insert the metal into the mold to obtain the predetermined shape.

Wire drawing: the process of drawing metal strips into filaments with a series of wire drawing dies with decreasing specifications.

Extrusion: a low-cost process of continuous processing. Solid or hollow metal is formed with the same cross-sectional shape, which can be used for both high-temperature operation and cold working.

Impact extrusion: a process used to process small and medium-sized parts without taper requirements. The production speed is fast, parts with various wall thicknesses can be processed, and the processing cost is low.

Powder metallurgy: a process that can process ferrous and non-ferrous metal parts. Comprises two basic processes of mixing alloy powder and pressing the mixture into a mold. Metal particles are formed by high temperature heating and sintering. This process does not need mechanical processing, the utilization rate of raw materials can reach 97%, and different parts of the mold can be filled with different metal powders.

Solid forming process

Solid forming processing: refers to the use of raw materials such as some metal bars, sheets and other solid forms that can be formed at room temperature. It belongs to labor-intensive production. The processing cost can be relatively low.
