In the 1920s, there were more than 70 pyrography enterprises with hundreds of employees in Nanyang. Fang Jinxiang, Liu Fuxiang, Yang Wende, Fang Yutang and Qian Wanshun run famous shops. Among them, Fang Yutang's "Fujuheng" chopstick shop has the most funds and the longest maintenance time. In addition, there are many artists engaged in pyrography in Nanyang countryside. Many families, men, women and children will burn pictures, which is a very prosperous cottage industry in the local area. Pear chopsticks sell well in Shaanxi, Shandong, Gansu, Sichuan, Hunan, Hubei and other provinces, especially Nanyang. In the 1940s, due to frequent disasters, pyrography artists switched careers or fled to other places, and production came to a standstill.
