The difference between e-commerce and cross-border electronic commerce.
1, different geographical ranges
The scope of e-commerce is wider, which can be divided into regional e-commerce and remote domestic e-commerce. Cross-border e-commerce only refers to trading entities belonging to different customs.
2. Platform and logistics operation are different.
The problems that traditional e-commerce needs to solve are: platform and logistics. As a seller of the platform, you only need to be familiar with the background operation, platform rules, activity strategies, and of course you need to spend money to buy traffic. Logistics is also relatively simple. We only need to choose the appropriate logistics according to the product characteristics and distribution areas, and we can track the logistics information nationwide.
3. Complex customs business processes
All the differences between cross-border e-commerce and traditional e-commerce are rooted in customs. At the same time, China Customs has a very clear definition of cross-border electronic commerce's business model: direct mail import, bonded import, general export and export in special supervision areas. Only these four business models, others are not cross-border e-commerce business models, so there will be complex customs business processes and numerous participating departments. In addition, various documents are needed for cross-border customs clearance.
4. The tax issue is different.
E-commerce does not levy taxes, and cross-border e-commerce needs to levy cross-border comprehensive taxes. The determination of tax rate needs to be based on the value of goods. The tax rates inside and outside the quota are different, the tax rates of different commodities are different, and the income tax calculation is different. As for how to calculate, please refer to the Notice of the Ministry of Finance, the General Administration of Customs and State Taxation Administration of The People's Republic of China on cross-border electronic commerce's Retail Import Tax Policy.
