How often are orthodontic follow-up appointments
The timing of orthodontic follow-ups depends on the type of braces and the speed of correction.
In general, with conventional fixed braces (such as metal or ceramic brackets), monthly follow-ups are usually recommended. If you choose self-ligating brackets, which are faster to straighten, follow-up appointments are usually recommended once every one and a half to two months. With invisible braces, two to three month follow-ups are usually possible, with the appropriate orthodontic treatment selected based on each individual's inconsistency.
However, the exact timing of follow-up appointments will need to be determined on an individual basis and may need to be adjusted based on the doctor's recommendations.
