The main content of Tibetan opera

Tibetan opera is one of the representative works of Tibetan traditional opera culture, and its main contents cover many aspects such as human life experience, Tibetan history and culture, religious beliefs, myths and legends.

With the Tanggula Mountains as the background and the history of Wei-Zang as the clue, the play tells the story of love, hate and disputes among the leaders of Langjie tribe, Zhuo Ma, Renqing Living Buddha, local officials, businessmen and various strangers. The drama has a strong Tibetan folk color and religious mysticism color, and depicts various forms of religious rituals and customs such as exorcism, sacrifice, myths and legends.

The repertoire that is often performed is called "Eight Tibetan Operas", and the performances are generally divided into "Dun" (opening song and dance to worship the gods), "Bear" (legend of the main play) and "Tashi" (praying for blessings and welcoming the auspicious). Its performance means are highly stylized, including singing, jumping, rhyme, white, expression and technique.
