15 China living fossil

There are 15 living fossils in China, including ginkgo, Metasequoia glyptostroboides, Davidia involucrata, fragrant fruit tree, giant panda, Chinese sturgeon, latimai fish, alligator, cockroach, giant salamander, aardvark, red panda, lizard, mantis shrimp, elephant shrew and so on. Living fossils are vaguely called remains, which means that similar species of any living thing only exist in fossils, and there are no other existing similar species.

The definition of living fossils is generally that fossils are found first and then organisms are found, or that organisms and confirmed fossils belong to the same species and exist at the same time. Living fossils refer to long-standing species, which are widely distributed in Cenozoic Tertiary or earlier. Due to geological and climate changes, most species have become extinct. The shapes of these living creatures are basically the same as those found in fossils, and the original shapes of their ancient ancestors have also been preserved. Most of its related groups are extinct, isolated and slowly evolving, which can be called living organisms or living fossils.
