What are micro-machining and precision machining and traditional machining?

1. Traditional machining generally refers to turning, milling, boring, grinding, drilling and planing.

2. Precision machining, generally refers to the machining with accuracy requirements above IT5, and it is difficult to meet the requirements with ordinary processes and equipment. Generally, it is necessary to use precision machine tools, well-designed processes, special tools and measuring instruments to complete processing in a suitable environment.

3. Micro-machining, in a broad sense, refers to the machining of micro-size or extremely small operating size. Generally, the overall size is less than 3 mm, and the machining process with little or no cutting is finishing. It is widely used in aerospace, precision instruments, biomedicine and other fields.

In addition to mechanical machining, micromachining mostly adopts electrical machining, chemical machining, wave machining, plasma, laser, particle, lithography and other technical means.

In a narrow sense, micromachining mainly refers to the manufacturing technology of semiconductor integrated circuits.

4. Finishing is not necessarily precision machining. Especially in the field of semiconductor integrated circuit manufacturing technology, their definition and requirements for accuracy are different from traditional machining.

5. CNC machine tools are not necessarily precision machine tools. Numerical control technology solves the problems of control, detection, feedback, operation and some actuators. The accuracy of machining mainly depends on the accuracy of mechanical parts.
