Debate: Urban construction should mainly draw lessons from traditional culture.

The Sixth Plenary Session of the Seventeenth Central Committee of the Communist Party of China put forward that culture is the blood of the nation and the spiritual home of the people. Nowadays, culture is not only an important part of comprehensive national strength, but also a core force. Urban construction is an important embodiment of the development of human civilization. In urban construction, reasonable absorption and utilization of historical and traditional culture is an important means to enrich urban connotation, enhance urban taste, shape urban image and enhance urban competitiveness.

Urban construction needs to respect history and traditional culture.

Historical traditional culture is the soul of a city. The charm of a city lies not in how many tall buildings it has, but in its historical and cultural heritage. Since its birth, the city has been branded with its own history, tradition and regional culture. Historical traditional culture is a symbol of the identity of a nation and a region and an important embodiment of its external image. It has distinctive historical, local and national characteristics, which determines its unique cultural connotation.

Historical traditional culture is accumulated over time and is the soul of a city. Those buildings or monuments of different times and styles, as well as handicrafts, dramas, costumes, folk customs and so on. It has strong local and national characteristics, which forms the foundation of modern city development and provides reference and enlightenment for modern city construction. Looking for the characteristics of urban culture from historical traditional culture, integrating its charm into every whole and detail of urban design, constructing the harmony of urban space and expressing the cultural form of the city through the symbols of traditional culture, thus promoting the development of urban economy. The cultural characteristics of a city determine its attraction. The more distinctive features, the more you can win the favor of the world. Therefore, a city should not only have the flavor of the times, but also pay attention to the inheritance of historical and traditional culture.

Historical traditional culture is an important resource for urban development. Culture is known as "the driving force of economic development" and is an important force to promote the balanced and harmonious development of urban economy and society. For example, Xi 'an, Hangzhou, Suzhou and Hangzhou, which are relatively rich in domestic historical and cultural resources, are also relatively developed cities in economy and society, and their historical and traditional cultures have made great contributions. Italy, a western developed country, has developed tourism based on the history and culture of ancient Rome, Florence, Venice and Pompeii, which has become an important economic source for the Italian government. The number of tourists is close to half of the country's total population, and tourism revenue accounts for more than 1/3 of the national finance.

At present, there is an upsurge of protecting "intangible cultural heritage" all over the country, and we are proud of how many "intangible cultural heritage" we have. Some cities vigorously promote "famous historical and cultural cities" as business cards, and "hometown of celebrities" and "historical theme parks" emerge one after another. Many cities have developed traditional culture into tourist attractions, fashionable consumer goods and cultural labels. "Culture sets the stage, economy sings opera" has also become a means for many places or enterprises to promote economic development. However, how to really take the move of "culture" well obviously requires more exploration and innovation in many places.

Cities are an important force in inheriting historical and traditional culture. Judging from the history of urban development, the city has always been an important inheritor of historical and traditional culture. Such as Rome, Athens, Paris, London and other cities, well reflect the history and traditional culture of our nation. China has a vast territory, many nationalities and a long history, and its natural conditions and folk customs are different. A large number of large public buildings with China characteristics and traditional culture, such as the Palace Museum, the Summer Palace, Suzhou Gardens and Potala Palace, as well as Terminal 3 of Xi 'an Capital International Airport, Suzhou Museum, Pedestrian Street and Yanta Square, have mushroomed in recent years. Suzhou Museum, in particular, fully integrates China culture with modern materials, technologies and forms of expression, reinterprets China classical gardens, and perfectly combines traditional culture with modern architectural concepts.

Hainan's urban construction should pay special attention to history and traditional culture.

Hainan is located in the south of Xinjiang and has a unique environment. It is the only pass of the ancient Maritime Silk Road and has a unique urban culture.

Take the provincial capital Haikou as an example. Haikou Town is the only "national historical and cultural city" in Hainan Province, with rich historical and cultural relics. According to the existing old books, Fucheng, as the capital of Qiongzhou, was founded in the fifth year of Kaibao in the Northern Song Dynasty (AD 972). In the Ming Dynasty, Hainan's culture reached its peak. The Ming dynasty began to expand Fucheng on a large scale. Qiongzhou at that time was not inferior to Pingyao, Jingzhou and Quanzhou today. There are Gong Xue in Qiongzhou, which was founded in the fourth year of Song Dynasty (A.D. 1044), and Qiongtai Academy, which was founded in the forty-fourth year of Qing Emperor Kangxi (A.D. 1705). Following the historical trail, we can also find the Drum Tower, Confucius Temple, Zhu Ya Yi Xue Museum, Bachelor's Shangshufang, Chenghuang Temple, Wen Zhuang Road, Embroidery Workshop, Cao Ya Lane, Tiexi Lane, Qiu Jun's former residence, Hairui's former residence and Wugong Temple. However, due to the long-term neglect of the inheritance of historical and traditional culture, the cultural remains are seriously damaged at present, some of them are only relics, and some are seriously dilapidated.

There are five old streets, namely Aibo Road, Zhongshan Road, Xinhua North Road, Deshengsha Road and Jiefang Road, which are also prominent places in Hainan's urban construction. The earliest arcade was built in 1849, and most of them were built by overseas Chinese who came back from Nanyang at the beginning of last century with reference to the architectural style of Nanyang at that time. The arcade building not only has a strong traditional architectural style of ancient China, but also has the architectural and decorative style of Nanyang culture, which became the regional feature of urban architecture at that time. In June 2009, Qilou Old Street was named "Famous Historical and Cultural Street in China" by the Ministry of Culture and National Cultural Heritage Administration. But unfortunately, nowadays, the old arcade gives visitors only a few crowded, noisy and dilapidated old streets.

Urban development is becoming more and more modern, but the traditional culture of urban construction, as a city's historical memory and urban folk lifestyle, is getting farther and farther away from us, especially the large public buildings that should have the positive power to inherit historical traditional culture, which are seriously lacking in historical and cultural inheritance.

Some suggestions on urban construction in Hainan

Today, with the rapid economic development and the accelerating pace of urban modernization, how to unify urban construction and cultural inheritance in Hainan, not only effectively protect the heritage, inherit the history and culture, but also meet the needs of economic development and people's lives, has become an important topic that cannot be ignored in the construction of an international tourist island. Therefore, the author suggests:

(a) in the process of planning and construction of new urban areas, we should pay attention to reflect the characteristics of traditional culture, especially the planning and construction of large public buildings.

Compared with geographical factors and economic factors, traditional culture can better reflect the attraction of a city. For example, when referring to Beijing, people will first think of the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square. When it comes to Suzhou, people first think of Suzhou gardens; When it comes to Haikou, the arcade is the first thing people think of. 201010/On October 30th, the Guangzhou City God Temple, which cost more than 20 million yuan to repair, was officially opened to the public free of charge. The restoration of Chenghuang Temple includes the main classic techniques of Lingnan architecture, including three sculptures (wood carving, brick carving and stone carving), two sculptures (gray sculpture and pottery sculpture) and one color (mural painting), which integrates all the elements of Lingnan architecture.

Facing the challenge of global culture and cultural convergence, inheriting historical traditional culture has become an unavoidable reality in urban construction, especially in large public buildings. When planning and building, we must fully understand the local environment, climate, nationality, customs and habits, characteristics of ancient buildings, etc. To seek the connotation and creative inspiration of traditional culture, so as to build a fine building with harmonious unity of traditional culture and modern culture. For example, the China Pavilion of the World Expo is a model of the perfect combination of history, traditional culture and modern architecture.

(two) in the planning and construction of the old city, we should pay attention to the protection and development of traditional culture.

We must protect, inherit and carry forward the precious historical culture and the essence of national traditions in the city. Therefore, in the planning and construction of the old city, it is necessary to strengthen the daily repair of traditional buildings in the old city and improve the necessary infrastructure; It is necessary to set up protected areas and buffer zones around important cultural sites, strictly control the height and density of buildings, and protect the original urban form; We should respect the original road network layout of the city and keep the traditional street texture that represents a certain period and has historical value; We must adhere to the premise of protection, development in protection and protection in development; It is necessary to avoid blindly knocking down the old urban areas with historical and traditional cultural connotations and avoid the disharmony between the prosperity of the new urban areas and the decline of the old urban areas.

Protecting historical and traditional culture and developing modern economy, protecting old urban areas and developing new urban areas can be completely unified. Suzhou, a thousand-year-old city, is a good example. In order to protect the ancient city, Suzhou implements the way of protecting the ancient city and developing new areas. More than 500 factories in the ancient city moved out of the city and the population was evacuated; Strictly control the height and density of buildings, transform and open ancient gardens and streets, partially restore and continue the style of the ancient city, and improve urban infrastructure. At the same time, the new urban area west of the ancient city and the industrial park east of the ancient city have also developed rapidly.

(three) urban planning and construction should adhere to the rule of law, the program evaluation should be sunny and transparent, and at the same time strengthen the supervision and management of planning and construction.

In the process of urban construction and development, architecture is an important embodiment of urban development. Architecture, with its unique artistic form, shows the cultural level of human beings in various historical stages, as well as their ideals, pursuits and longings for the future. Therefore, in the process of urban construction, we must respect the public's right to know, participate, supervise and benefit from urban construction, and adhere to the sunshine and transparency of urban planning and construction plans; Adhere to the legalization of urban construction and strengthen the supervision and management of planning and construction; Let traditional culture integrate into life and social development, and establish the image of Hainan as an international tourist destination with unique cultural charm. Give full play to the great role of culture and provide strong spiritual motivation and intellectual support for Hainan's all-round economic and social development and the construction of an international tourist island; Give full play to the positive significance of history and culture in city image propaganda, cultural education, ecological construction and harmonious human settlement.
