Shaoshan revolutionary base area
Shaoshan City belongs to Hunan Province, which is located in the hilly area of central and eastern Hunan Province.
After more than half a century's hard struggle, Shaoshan has developed from a remote and backward mountain village into a city with increasing economic strength and generally improved education, science and technology, culture and health.
Shaoshan is the hometown of Mao of all ethnic groups in China, where he lived, studied, worked and engaged in revolutionary activities as a teenager.
