Learning to Homeschool for a Change

April 28, 2019, I came to the National Institute with extreme anxiety and trepidation, the inability to do anything about my children's exhaustion, and the emotional rollercoaster of a stormy day, to walk into the Cultural Good Teacher Growth Camp, to try my hand at hosting a class, and to learn to walk up to the podium to share a lesson. All along the way, I have benefited a lot.

The first time I heard Mr. Yang Qiaoli say "long good", I was curious and asked what "long good" meant. Ms. Yang patiently said that the long good is to affirm and encourage, affirmation and encouragement of good deeds and good intentions, not just praise, than praise the connotation of a richer. I seemed to understand. Mr. Yang has done a very good job in the area of Changshi. I was a person with low self-esteem and never felt that I had much value. Mr. Yang's timely encouragement of goodness, as well as the tolerance and warmth of the teachers of the National Society, inspired me to affirm my own acceptance of my own heart. On this basis, I felt relieved and bold to study hard, not afraid to make a fool of myself, and pursued progress. I finally saw my own growth and value, and was able to better accept myself and affirm and encourage myself. I feel that in the National Institute of self-worth, respect, and warmth, I am happy to be a peer.

I first saw Mr. Yang Liping bowing so low, really 90 degrees, I was very surprised, there is such a bowing method. If it were not for the self-consciousness of inner humility and sincerity, it would not be so. At the Du Yuan Lecture Hall, my five-year-old Jimmy listened to Mr. Yang's class and memorized the saying, "A first-class person has the ability but no temper, a second-class person has the ability but a temper, and a third-class person has no ability but a temper," and applied it dynamically. When I lost my temper, Jimmy said, "Mom, you are now a second-class person, you have the ability to have a temper", and I quickly curbed my temper; when I patiently accompanied my child with a pleasant face, Jimmy said, "Mom, you are now a first-class person, you have the ability to have no temper", and I was happy for my own growth. I am happy for my progress, thanks to the teachings of Mr. Yang!

Later, when we trained as instructors, we went to a kindergarten in Puisheng***, and Mr. Yang was our instructor. Mr. Yang's standard Mandarin, clear thinking, see the problem thoroughly, guidance, our growth can not be separated from Mr. Yang and other careful teaching. Mr. Wang Zhanqiang's sharing is always in-depth, even from the life of common bumper cars, pirate ships and other game equipment, but also can be extracted to the most profound philosophy of life. Mr. Wang and Mr. Yang are both husband and wife doing public service, and the merit is boundless.

Before joining the National Society, I encountered a situation where Mr. Wang was always buying things repeatedly, for example, the family had already ordered fresh milk, which was delivered once a day. I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to do that, but I'm sure I'll be able to do it," he said. After entering the National Institute for Teaching Children, I bought milk again and again, and I calmly said, "We already have milk at home, so I will talk to the milkman and ask him not to deliver the milk for a few days, and then let him deliver it when we are finished with it". Mr. was astonished, and said with a smile, "You used to give me a hard time, but why are you so calm today?" This is the subtle influence I received at the National Society. As a wife and mother, my emotional stability, calmness and warmth are a blessing to the family. I am thankful to the National Institute for making me grow and thus the family is harmonious and happy.

I lack willpower and tend to give up halfway. I don't have enough punch cards, and I'm slacking on my morning reading. I was so impressed with the way I was able to get to the top of the class, and I was so impressed with the way I was able to get to the top of the class. Ms. Yang is extremely progressive, and she is the one who came after me. The National Society is very fortunate to have a leader who has been with us for decades, Mr. Chen. The National Society is a purely public welfare organization with no funding and no salary. Participants all rely on a passion. Seeing President Chen, whose passion has not diminished but rather increased over the past ten years, I am reminded of the master Liang Qichao's saying, "Drinking ice for ten years is not enough to cool one's passionate blood". President Chen's heart "benefit thousands of families, benefit the people of Yichuan", he sacrificed his rest time, a lot of time to do public welfare. At present, the Bible reading class has become a prairie fire, teaching children how to course will also be gathered is a pot of fire, scattered as a star in the sky.

Mr. Ma is a counselor and the instructor of our new faculty. When Mr. Ma said, "It is our responsibility to pass on the Chinese family way, and if we don't come out to talk about it, the family way may be broken, so we must come out to talk about it", I was very moved. This is Mr. Ma's noble and selfless heart!

It is also remembered that Mr. Yang called Mr. Ma to ask for help because of his inner turmoil, and the conversation lasted about an hour and thirty minutes. Mr. Ma on the other end of the line was patiently and carefully persuading and comforting Mr. Yang. I've never seen Mr. Ma before, but I've heard his voice before I've seen him. I felt that Mr. Ma was very knowledgeable and patient, so I would definitely like to meet him and ask him to solve my problems. Later on, I had the honor to listen to Mr. Ma's class for many times in the National Society, and was guided by Mr. Ma, with whom I worked as a team. We are on the same team with Mr. Ma. We are not separated from the public and the Way, from our mentors and friends, from the sages and the classics. Mr. Ma is my mentor!

Mr. Chen and Mr. Ma have a pure heart, a strong will, and a couple who have been doing public service for more than ten years and still have a passion for it, so I'm very fortunate to have met a good teacher; I'm very fortunate to have met a good cause; I'm very fortunate to have met a good friend!

In summary, I have found another point of growth for me, which is to discover the beauty of others, the merits of others, and to set an example to lead myself forward, to grow myself, to benefit my family, and to contribute to society!
