What are the six pillar industries in Shanghai?
Electronic information product manufacturing, automobile manufacturing, petrochemical and fine chemical manufacturing, high-quality steel manufacturing, complete sets of equipment manufacturing and biomedical manufacturing are six key industrial sectors in Shanghai.
Throughout 2018, the city's economic and social development has been generally stable, steady and improving, showing a high-quality development trend with better structure, better benefits, more coordination and more sustainability.
First, the economy grew steadily. The city's gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 6.6 percent, and the per capita GDP of the resident population exceeded 20,000 U.S. dollars. There were 582,000 new jobs created, the urban registered unemployment rate was 3.6%, and the urban survey unemployment rate is expected to be around 4.3%. Consumer prices rose 1.6 percent.
The second is that the economic structure, quality and efficiency continue to improve. The added value of the tertiary industry accounted for 69.9% of the city's GDP, and the output value of the manufacturing part of the strategic emerging industries grew faster than the city's above-scale industries by 2.4 percentage points. The local general public **** budget revenue increased by 7%.
Third, the reform and innovation made a new breakthrough. The 98 reform tasks of the comprehensive deepening program of the Pilot Free Trade Zone were basically completed. The proportion of society-wide R&D expenditure equivalent to the city's GDP reached 4%, the number of invention patents per 10,000 population reached 47.5, and the turnover of technology contracts increased by 50.2%. Shanghai's gross domestic product (GDP) in 2018 amounted to 3,267.987 billion yuan, an increase of 6.6% over the previous year at comparable prices.The per capita disposable income of the city's residents in 2018 amounted to 64,183 yuan, a nominal increase of 8.8% over the previous year; after deducting the price factor the real growth was 7.1%, and the real growth rate of 0.3 percentage points higher than the previous year.
The proportion of the tertiary industry has increased
According to preliminary accounting, the city's gross domestic product in 2018 amounted to 3,267,987 million yuan. Among them, the added value of the primary industry amounted to 10.437 billion yuan, down by 6.9%; the added value of the secondary industry amounted to 973.254 billion yuan, up by 1.8%; and the added value of the tertiary industry amounted to 228.4296 billion yuan, up by 8.7%.
The added value of the tertiary industry accounted for 69.9% of the city's GDP, an increase of 0.7 percentage points over the previous year.
From the perspective of major industries, the value added of industry in 2018 was 869.495 billion yuan, up 1.9 percent from the previous year;
the value added of wholesale and retail trade was 458.149 billion yuan, up 3.3 percent;
