Overview of Sizhai Village

Sizhai Ancient Village belongs to Dongbai Lake Town, Zhuji City. The ancient buildings are surrounded by green mountains and green waters, and the scenery is good. Because it is far away from the city, many historical sites have been preserved to this day and are worth visiting.

Sishengju, commonly known as "Qianzhuwu", is the most magnificent building in Sizhai ancient village. Named after the gate "Xing Yu Si", it means that Si lives long. Residential building for local tyrant Yuan Ru (1753- 1822). It covers an area of 6850 square meters. It takes the main shaft as the center, with two auxiliary shafts on the east and west sides, and there are eight quadrangles in total. There are patios, front and rear buildings and left and right rooms between courtyards.

In addition to buildings such as Qianzhuwu, there are several ancient buildings such as Xiaxinfu and Shangxin Huaguogong Villa.

Why are there buildings of such scale and art in such a remote barren land? The answer can be found in the brick carving above the gate of Qianzhuwu: the boat goes out, makes money, and the big boat comes back, which is respected. For hundreds of years, the ancestors of Sizhai followed this tradition, went out to make money, brought their wealth back to their hometown to build houses, and solidified the ancient civilization in the building, which has been passed down to this day.

The design of Sizhai ancient building embodies the principle of equality. A building complex can accommodate thirty or forty families, and none of them has a prominent room. The innermost room of the central axis of the building is the place where the body is stored and the memorial service is held, which means that everyone living in the building will receive the highest courtesy after death.

Paying attention to education is the tradition of the four generations, and the "Pen Front Bookstore" is proof. It is said that there are many academicians and professors in Sri Lanka.

There are 209 industrial enterprises in the village (including private enterprises). The backbone enterprises are Dapeng Metallurgical Machinery Co., Ltd., Rongxing Fireproof Windows and Doors Factory, Siao Tengye Co., Ltd., Refined Tea Factory, Toy Factory, etc. Among them, Si 'ao Rattan Industry Co., Ltd. uses imported rattan, specializing in the production of all kinds of rattan furniture. The products are luxurious and beautiful, fashionable, and especially loved by users. The arable land area of the township is 5,957 mu, including 4,696 mu of paddy field, dry land 1.26 1 mu and woodland 1.400 mu. The main products are bamboo, wood, tea, cocoon and grain. The specialty products are famous tea, chestnuts, torreya grandis and bamboo shoots, among which "Shi Jian" tea and "Bifengchun" tea are the most famous, and they have been rated as provincial and partial excellent products by the Provincial Department of Agriculture and the Ministry of Agriculture for many times, and won the gold medal of Thailand's "Expo". Sizhai Township is an important chestnut producing area in this city, and it is also the main supplier of grafted seedlings of improved chestnut variety "Maobanhong", and the seedlings are supplied to Hunan, Jiangxi, Fujian and other places. Convenient transportation, the village resident has a highway passenger bus directly to the urban area and Hangzhou.

Sizhai Village has 1 middle school, 3 primary schools, 72 teachers and 147 1 students. In 200 1 year, it was named as "Gaopujiu Qualified Township" by Shaoxing Municipal People's Government. The quality of life of the villagers has been significantly improved, and tap water has been widely used. 86% of villages have access to cable TV, with 2,572 program-controlled telephones, 2 hospitals 1 institutes, 2 branches, 3 medical service points and 2 beds 12. The work of special care in civil affairs was further strengthened, and the minimum living security line of 47 households 109 was implemented.
