What is a "self-combing woman"?

Self-combing woman refers to a woman who wears her hair coiled up like a married woman to show that she will never get married and will grow old alone, and after her death she is called a pure woman, which is a kind of women's culture in ancient China. In ancient China, feudal rituals were strict, and many women were unwilling to be abused and determined not to marry, or to support each other with their female companions in order to grow old, which is the prototype of the self-combing woman.
