If the Chinese nation has a history of 5,000 years, it has spent all of that time in an agrarian civilization. The village is the remote source and base of our agricultural life, and at least half of the Chinese people still live in these "rural communities", farming, having children, and enjoying the civilization that has been passed down from generation to generation. Historically, when cities emerged, an elite culture was born, but the folk culture, which best reflects the spiritual essence and temperament of the people, has always existed in the villages.

The disappearance of traditional villages is not only the disappearance of splendid and diverse historical creations, cultural landscapes, vernacular architecture, and material witnesses of the farming era, but also the disappearance of a large number of folk cultures that belonged to the villages - non-heritage.
