What does bread look like?
1, French baguette
The recipe of French baguette is very simple, using only four basic ingredients: flour, water, salt and yeast. Usually no sugar, no milk powder, no or almost no oil is added. The wheat flour is unbleached and contains no preservatives. In terms of shape and weight, each piece is 76cm long and weighs 250g. It is also stipulated that the bevel cut must have 5 slits to be standard.
2. Dutch tiger bread
Dutch tiger bread is also called Dutch crispy bread. When this kind of bread is made, rice paste is coated on the surface. After baking, it will spread as the dough expands. The cracks and color are like tiger spots, so it is called "Tiger Bread".
3. Italian ciabatta
Made from "liquid seeds" that have been fermented at low temperature for a long time, the texture of the bread has shiny holes of different sizes, and the slightly sour taste is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The more you chew, the more delicious it becomes.
4. White bread roll (Challah)
The most distinctive feature is its braided shape. The three-strand Challah symbolizes truth, peace and beauty.
5. Bannock, Scotland
A flat bread made in a round shape, sometimes called a scone when the round is cut. It is a traditional Scottish snack made with baking soda rather than yeast.
