Introduction of Yangzhou jade carving
Yangzhou jade carving is one of the Han folk carving arts in Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province, and also a major school of jade carving skills in China. Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province is an ancient city with a history of more than 2,000 years, with rich cultural heritage. Especially since the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it has been one of the three major jade carving sites in China. Yangzhou jade carving craft has a long history. For thousands of years, jade ancestors worked hard and practiced diligently, inherited and developed the fine tradition of jade in China, and created a large number of jade treasures with diverse forms and exquisite craftsmanship. On May 20th, 2006, Yangzhou jade carving was approved by the State Council to be included in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list.
