The Liangzhu Ancient City Peripheral Water Conservancy System, the earliest known large-scale water conservancy project in China and the earliest dam system in the world, with a design area of more than 100 square kilometers, once again confirms that the Liangzhu Ancient City has a complete metropolitan structure, from the inside to the outside of the city in order of the Palace City, the King City, the Outer Kuo City and the Peripheral Water Conservancy System. It blocks the flash floods flowing down from Dazhashan Mountain at the back of the ancient city and directs the water to the west, so that the ancient city can directly avoid the flash floods.
The central area of the distribution of the Liangzhu culture was in the Qiantang River basin and the Taihu Lake basin, about 5,300-4,000 years ago. [1] The most distinctive feature of this culture site is the jade artifacts unearthed, which contain many types of artifacts such as jewels, conchs, crown-shaped artifacts, jade bracelets, and pillar-shaped jade artifacts.
Liangzhu culture is one of the early human cultural sites, empirical evidence of China's 5,000 years of Neolithic human cultural history, marking China's 5,000 years of Neolithic cultural history.
On July 6, 2019, the Liangzhu site was inscribed on the World Heritage List.

The theme of the decoration on the jade wares is the animal-face pattern of gods and men, which is the embodiment of the concept of "the unity of man and heaven" and the belief of Liangzhu forefathers, and has gradually become the core of the traditional Chinese culture.
