Traditional methods of treating autoimmune diseases

While we know that using the theoretical knowledge of functional medicine in the treatment of autoimmune diseases allows us to get to the root of the problem so that we can treat it and ultimately eradicate it.

But the theoretical knowledge of functional medicine is ignored by most clinicians.

Their traditional approach to treating autoimmune diseases has been through potent medications, including NSAIDs (e.g., Edelweiss, naproxen), steroidal hormones (e.g., prednisone), anticancer drugs (e.g., methotrexate), and some of the newer medications (e.g., Enrile, Thuemax, and Taxotere).

This is medication that makes the body's immune system very sluggish, which increases a person's risk of developing cancer or deadly infections.

This is a drug that has serious side effects while usually only providing partial relief.

Of course, in the short term, these drugs can save some lives, but in the long term, they can't eradicate the source of the disease.
