What is the main composition of paint?

The main components of paint are: oil, resin, pigment, diluent and auxiliary materials.

Introduction to composition:

(1) oil: including drying oil and semi-drying oil, it is one of the main film-forming substances. ?

(2) Resin: including natural resin and artificial resin, which is also a part of main film-forming substances. ?

(3) Pigments: including colored pigments, physique pigments and antirust pigments, there are quite a few specific varieties, which are secondary film-forming substances. ?

(4) Diluent: including solvent and diluent, which is used to dissolve the above substances and adjust the consistency, and is an auxiliary film-forming substance. ?

(5) Accessories: including drier, curing agent, plasticizer and moistureproof agent. It also belongs to auxiliary film-forming substances.

Harmful substances in paint:

VOC (volatile organic compound): VOC is the abbreviation of volatile organic compound. Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) refer to the organic compounds in coatings that eventually volatilize into the atmosphere without forming a paint film. Volatile organic compounds will react with oxygen in the air to generate ozone, which is harmful to the atmospheric environment and human health.

TDI (Toluene Diisocyanate): TDI mainly exists in the paint under decoration and comes from the synthesis of curing agent for PU paint. Excessive free TDI will do harm to human body, mainly manifested as sensitization and irritation, with symptoms such as eye pain, tears, conjunctival congestion, cough, chest tightness, shortness of breath, asthma, red papules, maculopapules, contact allergies and so on.

Formaldehyde: Formaldehyde is a colorless gas with a strong pungent smell. Volatile and highly toxic, 35% ~ 40% formaldehyde aqueous solution is called formalin. Formaldehyde is highly toxic.

Benzene, toluene and xylene: benzene is a highly toxic substance, while toluene and xylene are low toxic substances. Inhaling a certain amount of benzene, toluene and xylene will cause poisoning and even damage the hematopoietic system and nervous system.
