What is Five Strokes

Wubi is one of the most commonly used Chinese character input methods in China and some Southeast Asian countries such as Singapore and Malaysia. Compared with Pinyin, Wubi is characterized by a low re-coding rate, which makes it possible to input Chinese characters quickly when you are skilled at it. Since the birth of Wubi in 1983, three versions of Wubi have been released: 86 Wubi, 98 Wubi and New Century Wubi.

At the end of the 20th century, Smart Pinyin became popular, and the number of people using Wubi dropped dramatically.
